That plot twist still gets me!
I'm gonna miss this campaign after it ends next week. this has been my favorite Dice Friends story so far.
Couldn't agree more!
I love Cams slime voice.
its so gentle
A thousand percent yes
"And Mo, don't say ANYTHING," is the most sound advice ever given.
NOO, Kathleen! Don't mention intelligent undead. Dale will hear you!
This was... I’m not even going to say anything here because all that I’m capable of saying has spoilers...
Spoilers beware!!!
I’m shook. Like I had a feeling that there might’ve been a weird thing bout this sausage standard, but I overlooked it once Enor made that super high investigation roll reading the standard earlier and no info was given about it.
Everyone was great:
Ben you’re a good leader, sometimes ya just have to tell another PC in character to not do a thing. I have a hard time doing that myself and I’m very happy you have this skill.
Ian & Cam: Magnificent roleplaying, this was stellar for both of you. Cam your accents are great. Ian, that description of your spells sometimes doing things made me feel your passive frustration of those spells not always working on a spiritual level. And that’s okay. If spells worked all the time it’d be bad for everyone.
Surge: Just yes. You’re character is learning about relationships and how to be a good friend/listener. Also guidance= clutch and I’m happy you’re using it often.
Kathleen: Just Yes. This is amazing. You’re a fantastic DM, and I’m really sad that this next one might be the last. You’re witty, you’re kind to your players, the NPC tag along friends are helpful but not over powered like other DM tend to have, and this story is FANTASTIC!! I mean the plot, the many layers, the romances that are going on! (Hot elf has a boyfriend! 🥰)
Not gonna lie, Enor doesn't appear to be the most competent of Law Mages in the first place... Given his propensity to be interested in alcohol etc, I wouldn't be surprised if he'd been drinking on the job or under the influence for that investigation. But further to that, Kathleen DID state there appeared to be clauses in duplicate which in a long document, people DO often overlook as normal.
@@Lostwinddragon It's a giant-ass book-sized regulation. You can't be expected to check it all in a few minutes or hours, even with Magic you'd probably need a team of lawyers working full time for a few weeks.
What's more concerning is that the Orzhov and Dimir agreed to sign it without first doing due dilligence. It's possible they were in on the plot, after all Enor and Avenir's boss had already set up the meeting with them (as well as Molander's grandma).
the dimir only had a brief time to look at an enormous document but asked for a full copy for themselves so may have had an inkling but lulled to false sense of security by our ernest boys (which was probably the plan). Possibly also because people expect sneaky duplicity from dimir, but not so much from the Azorios. Or at least not this kind of sneakiness, more legal technicalities and such rather than a total subversion of something that seems so in character for them.
Enor did actually get a hint about the agreement when he talked about having studied it extensively but they got caught up in other things and never followed up on it.

@@Lostwinddragon That's the thing, they kind of did. Both the Orzhov and the Dimir representatives noted that the document was strange, ("Even for the Azorious this seems excessive" -Prelate Tsevmeela Gobrand, "I think there's something in this document" -Editor Immola Roseler) but everyone just brushed it off because the document was 1: Long as all hell, and 2: seen as (in universe) the kind of boring pedantry the Senate normally gets up to or (OOC) a McGuffin.
Kathleen is a master of dropping hints (as well as many other traits).
SPOILERS:
I remember Ian's character reading through the book. Obviously, not far enough.
I always thought it was suspicious noone was reading thru it. I think a couple skimmed thru the first few pages.
I thought rule 1 was to read thru before signing contracts.
“He is so quotable.” Is a wonderful quote
Clintok can cast a Hold Person spell that hits five targets at once, which means he can cast seventh-level spells.
Just saying: hidden badass.
Cam's slime accent is inordinately delightful.
it gives me asmr,,,
Just wanted to let you know that I look forward to this every week!
Woah! Kathleen is awesome. The actual magic contract is only the first letter of each paragraph! The ones that glowed! They probably spell something completely different than sausage regulations.
I wonder if that relates to when they examined it before and found that there were some duplications. I'm trying to find the exact point, but it was early on, they read through found some odd things but just joked about how "oh yeah I'm sure the leader would be happy with you pointing out errors in their magnum opus" because they had no reason to assume there was hidden code. What if the duplications were because they needed to re-use letters starting a paragraph and that seemed the most subtle way to do it.
Or maybe the triplicate refers to the classic d&d idea of the rule of three where magical effects typically need to contain elements of three, like the same three words, movements, or components.
@@charmandenator5686 found it ruclips.net/video/UmqECvQqp_0/видео.html&t=2346 episode three 39minutes 6seconds says that there's something off sloppiness maybe and worth looking at again.
grass jelly in soymilk? sweet bean rice cakes? industrial run off? TIL the Undercity is Asia
Water chestnuts cake and grass jelly are legit Chinese desserts. I didn't realize Kathleen knew so much about this
@@octochan Yeah, as a Korean I was surprised to to see these desserts get mentioned (as there are similar versions of the desserts in my culture too).
When Kathleen mentioned grass jelly in soymilk, I did a double take and had to rewind that.
I feel so lied too
That ending was fantastic! I’ll really miss this campaign when it’s over.
so damn good! the worst thing about this video is that I don't want it to end next session =D
I know I shouldda had more faith in Kathleen because she's the ravnica expert and all around smart person, but I have been a bit worried through this campaign that the Golgari would end up being the evil big bad, and as a Golgari member I am so glad it's shaping out to be nuanced and pretty fair to all the guilds. Also I love the reporter character, she's fun.
Cameron with the Destiny reference, Zavala's copybasta from the Valus strike!
Kathleen! I know that Dale is an inspiring DM, but these cliffhangers are too much!

My thoughts on the ending:
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!"
BAMBOOZLED
That was... wow. Can't wait for the next one!
So, in a "team building activity" for a class we made friendship bracelets. Being the guy I am, I couldn't help but think of my first love: the Izzet League. I've probably got lots to explain to my teacher.
i take offense at ben's comment on Canada's Wonderland being a lesser version of six flags
I feel cheated that Enor didn't make a reference to the eastern culture this week.
SnowToad At 27:50 referencing cosplay.
So the Cult of Rakdos has turned into a fetish cult?
Hmmmmmmm......
Implying the Rakdos wasn’t always a fetish cult?
Lucca Nelson
I mean.....I GUESS.
Called it!
Exciting!
NOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Give the guys a break!!
Yay new dice friends!!
EXCUSE ME CAM WAS THAT A DESTINY MEME
Canada's wonderland > six flags
I like Franka(?). She's got motzi for reporting.
Say what?
Aaha so Calcio is pronounced like "Calchio"
Spoiler warning for the end of the video

I tracked down the bit in earlier episodes where something being odd about the agreement was mentioned by Kathleen. It's from back in episode 3 when Enor mentioned that he read the agreement super thoroughly. Kathleen has done such a good job running this and picking up on when players mention something that might give them a clue, while not clubbing them over the head with it which can be a tricky line to walk.
There are other times when the obviously know what she's going for but that's usually more the comedy bits like knowing she wants to read stuff from the community board =)

It's great... but even for magical contracts, if you sign something and people add things to it after you've signed, it's unlawful. Hence, if something you signed had something hidden on it, something you weren't able to read, it is unlawful and should not work as per the magic of Ravnica (or any bureaucracy, really). Avenir should have been able to read something fishy, or maybe you should have given him a check... otherwise, you sacrifice player narrative power for your story because you haven't found a way to do it otherwise. Such surprises are rarely well written. If it were me at the table, I'd say "If they haven't found out about that before they sent us, too bad for them. Job done."
Actually, in episode 3, kathleen did let Enor make a intelligence check for reading the paper, and she said there was something phishy about it
@@taliesine.8343 I don't remember, but if you say so, I believe you. Too bad the lead wasn't followed up.
The only complaint I have is that Kathleen was hogging the spotlight a little bit and not giving the players time to interact and fuck around. Felt a bit too scripted.
