    What a beautiful documentary! Put together and presented by true angels really. God bless. Telling a story, narrating a legend, is a tall order. It requires one to be true to the subject. In this case, this is a brilliant success, at homage. 🙏🏻 And a special motion to the background score. It carries its own tribute, to these great souls, residing for a while in the incarnation of a monk, The Mastiff.

    We have very much enjoyed your video, Mastiff - A Gammonwood Tale, all three parts. I do not know if the level of your knowledge, or that of your interview subjects is commonplace among dog breeders in England, but it is not so here in the States. I was impressed by that, and in fact found myself typing quotes from Col. David Hancock in particular. That said, however, it is your dogs that left me in awe, and with more than 20 years breeding Bandogge Mastiffs and now also American Bulldogs, I am simply put, not easily left in awe. Among your dogs I saw not a single fallen pastern, no obesity, no overdone wrinkle, but gorgeous and typically athletic animals, many which might still run beside horses for a night, only to rush headlong into battle in the morning. You have my utmost respect and admiration, and I am encouraged deep in my bones to know that there still remain breeders such as yourselves, who shall provide that the Mastiff's future is sure.

    Love the breed and would never have another. Once you have raised a Mastiff from a Pup and watch them grow and spend there life with you they build the most enduring memories that you savor years after they are gone. My Mastiff passed 11 years ago and I miss and think about him often. Some of the recollections by the ladies in this video I could tell they have lost their friend and I understand there obvious grief. Some of the stories about my boy I can not tell without getting a bit misty. That is the way it is with these giants. they come into our lives as that little ball of curiosity and over sized feet that will step on you so many times through out the years but little do we know they step on our souls and harts leaving a place there that will never be filled. I believe they make us better people so what can you say about that.

    • @Rascallucci
      @Rascallucci 7 лет назад +1

      I don't think that is necessarily confined to the English Mastiff. Every now and then we get to have that very special dog, be it for good or bad reasons. I lost my Weimaraner over 3 years ago and I am still reluctant in getting another one cos I know be it consciously or subconsciously, I will probably always compare the new dog to my old dog. I think I will most likely end up going for other breeds such as a Doberman or Rhodesian Ridgeback. Point being is at least they don't have that velvety grey fur and huge ears. And it will never be fair when you compare dogs.

    Much of the remainder of the suite plus some additional single pieces were all used in Part One.

    It has always sickened what we have done to all animals. The Mastiff is a magical breed. I have two myself both rescues. I know they would never win any contest. I never cared about that. I only care about the unconditional love that they provide. I would encourage anyone to find a Mastiff that is not perfect to open your home as I have. I feel upon very hard times. I got my ass on the public bus with a home converted suitcase with lawnmower wheels to haul 40 lbs of dog food home to feed them. They are worth every dollar.

    I'm a first time mastiff owner. I’m (21 year old) studied them for years before I finally got my first puppy last year. I keep her trim and in good shape through play, work, and exercise rather than bulk her up to be massive like her breeder is doing with their dogs. She is large as she should be for a new 1 year old and I am extremely proud at that fact. She is still just as regal and "elegant" as I'd like her to be but she retains the athleticism that she should have as an English Mastiff.

    Mastiffs are one of the most loyal dog breeds if not the most... HOWEVER... Please if you get one make sure you're willing to put forth the effort/time/possibly money to train them... You don't want a possibly 250lb mastiff who isn't trained... Make no mistake they know their size and the older they get the more stubborn they'll get

His personality is great around children, dogs and other adults and he is surprisingly well trained compared to most dogs i have seen. I thought this was an excellent video and would be interested to share photos and find out more about the blood line of Dave. i have his family tree, is there somewhere that I could go to find out more? He can look forward to a loving life coming to work with me on my fishing lake complex and making friends everyday and being part of our family.

      A burglar broke into our store. The dog knocked him flat on his back and grabbed his head. He screamed. I went out and i knew the lad. Christ he cried. The police had been calledout and when they looked over the back wall they wanted to get a marksman out. One officer said don't be stupid, get john. I was watching all this so i went outside simply clicked my finger and he came wagging his tail. " look what i got for you". Poor lad had pissed himself. You see he knew the dog "daft bugger". The dog never broke the skin, he did growl alot though and with a mouth full of head, well imagine. As a puppy he would chase me knock me on my arse and hold me. That is what mastiffs do. And what my bull mastiff did it is natural. These dogs they say are mastiffs on the news are not. They are just abused big dogs. A mastiff just want to please you. Thats why he tried to fetch me a intruder. And that lad still played football afterwards With the dog, and the dog was no different to when he was a pup. I still laugh with him about it!

    May I offer my sincere appreciation. The amount of time taken to produce these videos is proof of the obvious love you have for these unwatchable dogs. However I am confused in the order to watch. That is certainly my shortcoming but would you help me understand?

    We own our first . Apricot reverse brindle mastiff. She is by far our largest dog but much loved. 7 months she is dwarfng our newfie mix.. her feet head and length is noticably bigger. Solid muscle and bone stand out. Vet told us she is hing to be bigger then normal falling close two hndred lbs. Video was so well done we could see the expressions matching our own experience. Awesome job where can i by this video.

    The music isn't depressing. It is solemn, stoic, quiet, sweet. Like some mastiffs =D

      I found it melancholic, repetitive and distracting and I love strings and mastiffs.

    Thank you for the video. I have a Bull Mastiff who does not even bark. His size is enough to let people know not to bother trying anything.
