While the evidences usually are elusive, it is a possibility due to its wide range of animal species, some of which are so rare they are only found in this country: Bonobos, Okapi, etc...The DRC has a far reaching history, most of which has been erased from its people's mind by the Colonizers (Belgium). It is the birth place of several independent kingdoms mentioned in African history (Kongo, Luba,etc...). it has a long and powerful river, over 250 spoken dialects, and all sorts of vegetation (equatorial forest). It is no wonder that scientists and researchers are baffled at this country's natural wealth and potential, and they continue to affirm that this country has the potential to be an African power should it finally find economical/political stability.

There is no wonder that Africa was able to supply food to the rest of the world during famines, until the colonial powers took over Africa. But it is the Africans who must blame themselves for the ruin that has followed after gaining independence.

That is true. However, it doesn't mean there is no story behind the name.

The best way to show support for this talent is to buy the album. Also,if you are fortunate enough to live in a country that allows this group to go on tour,attend the concert. Sadly,certain unfair visa laws prevent many African performers to visit places like the USA,which is shameful.Konono No.1 managed at least one visit there,but were denied visas for another tour. If I am wrong,I apologize,but that is what I heard,and it is a disgrace!
