TV exexutives would ruin it. They'd want him to exaggerate prices and finds and plant awesome cards. Those TV shows are almost always faked to add drama. Just keep it authentic on RUclips without the suits ruining it.
Holy awesome! This deserves to be on TV. Seems like not only sports cards fans would like this, but the same crowd watching American Pickers would watch this.
Hey man! Just found you and subscribed! Great idea for a channel/show. I am originally from Houston and that antique gallery mall in Spring is where my Grandma bought me my first pack of baseball cards! 1983 Topps in 1983 or 1984 i think. I also got into Garbage Pail kids from here about 1985/1986 from the same guy. He was on the right side of entrance and he sold cards and martial arts equipment. Chinese stars, swords, and other stuff. Got into martial arts partially because of his kiosk and Karate Kid released in 1984. I last went there in 2017 with my Grandma on my last visit to H-Town (i have lived in L.A. since 1997). Fantastic place that has been an antique gallery since at least 1983!!! Good luck!
If you ever want to see a collection and are in the western Maryland area hit me up! Currently have every topps set from 1953- 2021 complete. Bowman, playball, stand up, football, pokemon, Garbage pail kids, even Jaws and indian Gum! I also run a full store out of my 2000sqft basement . Love watching your show-
The algorithm has blessed you. I have never looked up anything about baseball or card collectables but here I am, enjoying the show. Good luck on the hunt
As a German I can translate the back of Ruth Sanella. "Babe Ruth, the american Baseball king hitting." The rest is information about the set. There are 112 cards on 120 pages to collect. Some words were hard to read because of old german lettering. Hope that helps and thanks for great content.
This is awesome! I’ve been a collector for 30 years and I plan to give my son it all when he’s grown. It’d be cool to see him on a show like this years down the road selling our collection. I can’t wait to see more episodes!
What a fun video. Thanks for sharing! Buying up big collections takes a good chunk of money up front, but if you have the time to go through it then it can be a lot of fun and quite lucrative. Congrats on the nice finds!
Matthew 6:19-24 - "Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust[a] destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." Start working for God, you can be stacking up treasure in heaven RN. If you are not a follow of Messiah I would recommend becoming one. Call on the name of Jesus and pray for Him to intervene in your life. This world and the things in it are temporary. Belief in Messiah does not grant you salvation, you have to follow His commands and Obey Him also - Matthew 7:22, John 3:3, John 3:36
I used to stop at antique shops about 10 years ago on a regular basis, rarely found any cards at all, if I did it was only low grade junk wax, wish I could have got lucky just once! Great finds, looking forward to the rest.
This was FANTASTIC. Great production, cool finds- truly felt like a tv show. Can’t wait for Chasing Cardboard to get their offer from the History Channel! Great work guys!
You should ask the people you speak with if they would be interested in sharing their instagrams, facebook pages, ebay names, etc. Maybe other collectors who watch the show could reach out to purchase stuff we see that you pass on.
Great content. Well done and speaks to a specific audience that like history channel type shows. I do have to say after reading the comments, its mindblowing to me the people that call themselves "collectors" when in reality they "flip" things just as quick as the people they despise. You can't honestly tell me any and all of the purchases you find that you aren't looking to profit in some sort of fashion. There is a place for both types of people and even hybrids, which i think we all are. But there needs to be a bridge for the gap between the two because it's downright hateful to some degree. The hobby has evolved 1000 fold over the years and the idea that only collectors should be looked at as good person while others are shamed is not evolving sports cards.
I’M ADDICTED TO THIS SHOW! Well produced. Great camera work & editing. Likable & knowledgeable host. I can see a network picking this up very quickly. I’m excited to see what’s to come.
Very good episode. Production value is off the charts. Might I suggest showing the purchasing interaction. Instead of just finding the 63 Mantle and then CUT TO: "I bought this for $100". It would have been nice to see the people running it, hear their banter with you on the card and see the actual purchase and dealings of it.
I just found your channel today. I'm in South Carolina with a way better lot of cards than what these guys had. My grandpa left them to me when he passed 5 weeks ago. Most of the cards he had were from the 60s to the early 2000s. Some cards he had two of like Hank Aaron, he told me he'd be great one day, and Hank was. I know I'm not from Texas, but this might be well worth your time to check out.
Thank you for presenting an A+ production. I really like seeing the various cards/collections, but also that you took the time to also educate viewers (esp newbies) about what/where to look. Can't wait to see the code cracking "help" video's. Thanks again and good luck #ChasingCardboard
Great show guys! I have done this for 10+ years now of just buying collections in bulk. I’m currently coming home with my latest purchase 300,000+ cards wax & memorabilia. Although it’s gotten tougher in the last year to find good quality collections the thrill of the hunt lives on. Networking with people and word of mouth has always been my way of obtaining collections and I currently buy atleast 1 a month sometimes more. Many times I get leads for east coast collections and I have to find others in the hobby to connect with those buys. I’m based in Vegas so for me Texas is the furthest east I drive to buy collections but I’ve been known to fly out to Florida and drive home a uhaul full. Again great episode and love that good guys are doing this content that’s something that is very underrated good guys in a good hobby it’s what we need to see more of!
Totally agree on collections and even auctions. Where I was buying 70’s baseball and football in lots of 1,000 for about $50 now everyone thinks that every vintage card is worth $10 each and those $50 lots are now going for $500 with me room for profit or to even put sets together. Heck 5,000 count boxes of junk wax go for about $50 now when you could barely get $5 a box for them 5 years ago.
Great work, it was great to watch your pursuit of some really nice cards and what it takes to track them down. Really lookkng forward to the next episode. Thanks for sharing.
