@@BlueTelevisionGames you also need to get all of the Star Coins. they can be a bit trickey to get, but im sure you can manage. also there are cheats based on Super Metroid, and Mega Man. Another thing, I would recommend looking at some walkthroughs, at least for the hidden koopalings. the other secrets can be a bit of a bitch to get tho. 1 last thing, if you want someone to help you with the secrets, or you want someone to help you with the cheats (they are kinda useful) hit me up, and if you want to have me IN the actual video, we can probably do a call on discord and ill do my best to help, but not give the answer away directly. granted i know that this is a pretty dumb proposal and that you generally only do collabs with Lair, but i think i would be fun
The yoshis replace the Rex’s in this game.
Also you can kill the baby bros with the power ups that let you throw projectiles.

Here’s a little secret. When you go into any switch palace, go left as soon as you enter the second room, and you’ll find an area with a large speaker block. Jump up to the upper right corner of the room (you might need to fly), and you’ll go through the wall. Keep going and see what happens.

This is neat.. so Koopa love. i loved how he lost his shell when he dyed and becomes naked . That Yoshi when squished was nuts , and Hammer Toad so angry. That boss fight rocked creepy mushroom Mario.I loved how it had a cartoonie style to it. Defo looking forward to so more. Thank you.
I have beaten the prequel and have also beaten world 1 in this game. I am so happy you are playing it. It's so fun. It's so creative and features some features that could be in smm2 or something. Here are my favourite in the game:
Favourite Baby-Killing technique: Fire (Paratroopa whack is also fun too)
Favourite Playable Character: Shy Guy
Favourite Enemy (So far): Shark
Boss Technique (First Boss): Fireball spamming and "You see me rollin'!"
Favourite Powerup (So far): Super Leaf
Also here are some warnings for World 2:
1. The below warnings may be minor spoilers
2. If you get the spiky flower (which gives you a spiked shell), you can do a move which is sure to bring sonic nostalgia
3. The first time I shot fire at a mummy mushroom, it made a sound effect and scared the hell outta me.

Tips
1. Find the koopaling stars to get the true final boss
2. There are hidden cheat power ups in some the levels (I don’t remember which levels they are in tho so happy hunting)
3. Get all the silver star coins to unlock the true final boss door

I absolutely would love to see you play this with all three characters. Since the Shyguy and Goombas don't have shells to retract into, I wonder what their special powers would be…

@@BlueTelevisionGames Also, am I wrong, or did the enemies seem to react differently to different attacks? Like, I swore one actually caught on fire when hit by a fireball. Also also, did you see the fireball when it got the water?

Here’s a few things to know about the game
1: if you bring a leaf into one of the switch palaces (I forgot which one) you can fly into a secret passage at the top right of the first area and find a hidden switch that upgrades the leaf.
Edit: it’s the green switch palace and I was wrong on how to get it. After going through the pipe to the switch room go back to the pipe to walk past it. This will take you to a secret room. This is where you use the leaf to fly into the top right of the room into the hidden passage
2: in the 2.0 version, all the bosses designs were changed (except for the final boss). The original bosses were all based on different foods except for the 3rd one. The first boss was originally a soda can, which better explains the room filling up with liquid during the fight. In one of the menus there’s an option to change the bosses between the new and old designs.
Gonna wait to read so I don’t spoil it. But will come back if I get stuck :)

Level design looks good and appears to take advantage of the Koopa Troopa's abilities instead of just be generic Mario type levels. It'd be interesting to see if the shy guy and goomba work the same.

I just tried this game, and I’ve found out I am terrible at it, because I have to use the mouse and keyboard.I am on 1-2… for 10 minutes… and I still haven’t beat it. Great video as always Darby!

Hey Darby! I've got some tips for you in order to get some special stuff!
-In the switch palaces there is a secret, once you enter the pipe, just go right, make sure to have a flying powerup to fly through a fake wall and hit a switch that turns all super leafs into tanooki leafs, which let you turn into a statue along with the perks of the super leaf.
-There are hidden Metroid powerups in the game, one of them was in Mario's Villa (1-6), next to the boss door, bring a Mecha-Mario and throw it to the right of the boss door, you should explode some blocks that lead you to the Space Jump, which works just how it does in Metroid.
-There are invisible/hidden things everywhere, make sure to check every block.
-There's a secret exit in the water level, go under the donut blocks holding the flag at the end of the level and you'll find it.
-In some levels, there are sub-areas with stars that have the face of certain koopalings, make sure you collect all of them otherwise you can't get to the true final boss.
I'll give some more tips if you make a part 2!
