This franchise is just cursed. Too bad we never got a Cheetara
The problem with WB waiting for a reboot is that the people buying the classic Thundercats figures don't want figures that don't look like the classic cartoon/toys. By burning us old school fans it makes me not want to support a reboot. WB is shooting themselves in the foot here.

trwright7 - I couldn't agree more! I want a classic looking figure. Not one that looks like whatever reboot they may be planning. The Bandia one associated with the first Thundercat reboot was horrible. The only thing that was somewhat okay was the Thundertank that had Snarf in it.
trwright7 well said! An extreme but clear example is Michael Bay's complete and utter bastardization of the Transformers. Now even the TF comics suck. Anyone want "Optimus Prime Vol. 1"? As far as I've read it's just garbage too. Don't fix what isn't broken! Now the "Optimus Prime" TPB is trying to throw what's happened with American racism/presumed racism and playing it out like tracing last year's news. Fu*ck the drama! Comics are supposed to be FUN TO READ (art sucks too). Don't frickin politicize Transformers. I mean you, IDW. Such a huge mistake. I will never accept IDW's Transformers as ANY form of legitimate story or canon. Go flippin' do your soap-boxing with Barbie or some other franchise. Worst $13 I've ever spent was on the "Optimus" TPB. I'm not gonna read the rest. Politics have no room in comic books. Ever. They're created to take our minds OFF OF POLITICS AND WARS that are really happening, not mimic them.
Hopefully super7 will do them in the future as long as they working with the four horsemen on motu. We just need to keep letting them know we still want to finish our thunder cats collection.
Super 7 should be called SuperSuperSlow ! it's the end of June and they still haven't shipped the figures out yet, this is the second time !

It's such a bummer. These figures were soooo good! It really is heart breaking.
SEO Toy Review - I am heart broken. I actually like what MOTU Matty Collector has done with the presentation and all. Out of all the Thundercats Classic figures, I was only disappointed with Pumyra, because her height was not accurate at all.

Well, most of them had atrocious, god awful paint apps, bad/cheap plastic and other QC issues. The sculpts were freakin awesome, but the QC wasn't as good as the earlier MOTUC figures. Now if they used a better plastic, took their time with the molding and paint apps..it would be jesus on a pop sickle.

Perhaps the real story is that Super 7 didn't want to or couldn't pay whatever the licensing cost was.
Figured as much. Judging from how they were made and released, it came across as badly marketed and produced (no Tygra and Cheetara in the release).
this sucks, we bought those first few figures, with the hope that the line would continue...they should at least complete the remaining of the Thundercat figures, Tygra, Cheetah, Bengali and Lynxo, if they have any decency and respect to their clients and customers.
And the rest of the main mutants including the other version of Mumm-Ra.
Originally they showed a Jaga sculpt when this line was previewed. The line up changed after that so there does exist a Jaga sculpt that was supposed to be held off for a second wave of the line. Horsemen has a Jaga, why can't we have that? It should be grandfathered in under the original license.
There's no doubt that both WB has something in mind for the Cats, and that there will be an eventual figure line with someone. I don't however see it being a collector's line. I wouldn't be surprised to see the license end up with a Bandai America (again) or even Playmates who have been on a tremendous roll.
Yep dug the new Thundercats toon too. Stinks but do expect something to happen hopefully down the road.
I may dabble into the Loyal Subjects just to help show we want Thundercats.
I seen this coming, That's why I never started the collection.. Glad I waited to see what would happen. I'm just thankful that MOTUC Made it all the way for the most part, I still wish the could get through the vehicles and Playsets though.
They act like they can't get the licensing for Masters of The Universe. We've been waiting on the ULTIMATES since NOVEMBER. I don't want vinyls. I don't want MUSCLE figures. I want my damn CLASSICS.
These will come back in the future, good things come to those who wait.
A Thunder Cats cinematic universe with Silver Hawks and Tiger Sharks would be Epic.
ThunderCats is pretty much dead. The Mattel line was its last chance to really matter anymore, and that's gone. WB is being stupid about this as the reboot attempt in 2011 ended up flopping, and I honestly can't see a movie/second attempt at a reboot doing anything anymore than the G.I.Joe movies, or Jem and the Holograms movie did for their brands. In other words...nothing.
The only 80s properties that had cartoons and toylines that seem to be doing well are basically Transformers and Ninja Turtles.
The 80's franchises are passing through bad times. This end of Thundercats, no GI Joe at retail until the next movie (God only knows when), I haven't seen new MOTU also....the toy world isn't made only of Marvel and DC...
I liked the Thunder Cats reboot, but I was not a fan of that toy line. As a kid I loved those huge 80's figures with the functions. After Marvel Legends I am a 1/12th scale fan for life. I hope I can find some of this line before the prices sky rocket.

yeah, Mezco still put out those large scale Thundercats from time to time.
I don't see any harm in licensing out the ThurnderCats to Super 7 since it's mostly for the adult collectors. Maybe they should keep Super 7 in mind if they wanna sell to the ThunderDads. We all know they'll be pushing everything in any possible upcoming movies.

Thinking that there could be two other possibilities for Super7 (and NECA) not getting the license. One, Super7 also wanted the license for other merchandise like t-shirts, prints, retro-figures, etc and there is the potential that WB didn't want the pseudo-goofy merchandise of that type that Super7 is known for. The second possibility is that perhaps Mezco wanted to up what they're doing with Thundercats, like possibly in the One:12 Collective area, which Mezco would consider a conflict with their license which would also explain NECA not being able to get the license, either.
Can't they just ask for a limited license where they can release Cheetara, Tygra (with Snarf), Muscular Mummra, Monkian, Vultureman and Slithe? Maybe even as convention exclusives? They do not have to release numerous characters. Just the core ones. Heck, I would even be happy if they just give us Tygra and Cheetara with Snarf to complete the team, and a muscular Mummra.
it would be nice if some kind of arrangement could be made where the four horsemen could sell what thay have already made to people who want to round out what thay have. maybe relabel them something else like "lost legends" and sell them from there website. thay could make it that if you got the whole wave then you could mix and match and you'd essentially have your ThunderCats. but when you bought them at first they would be a little mixed up as to look like different characters that don't really have anything to do with Thundercats but once you put them together you'd have your ThunderCats. I know Mattel did this with Masters of the Universe kind of. if you mixed and matched you could get He-Man 2000x figures.

Thundercats needs a major reboot of THE ORIGINAL SERIES. Not that the previous reboot was bad, but fans need a reboot to reflect on today's standards of DC animated serious tone.
I was super bummed by this news when it came out because I've largely gotten everything I want as far as MOTU Classics goes, and was really loving the Thundercats stuff the 4H were doing.
sad...I think you're right, Wb is holding it for something later. I think minis are OK but they will keep an eye on it. I think there will be a wave one and decide if they want to continue it or drop it. so loyal subjects has to make strong decision who to have in the first wave still make buyers want a second wave.
Hopefully 'The Four Horsemen' will release higher quality figure ones down the road!
The only thing that annoyed me about the 2011 Thunder Cat reboot was the last final episodes they cut off both Pantero's arm's and replaced them with robot extendo arms. That just cheezzed me off! But other than that I was cool with it. Yah! they made other changes too. But that one was two arms to far!!!!
7:00, absolutely guys we want Thundercats figures. Although i'd also want one based on the character of; *Lynxana* from her run in the Thundercats Marvel Starr comics! Again licensing problems with something Marvel Comics and not DC owns the rights to per se??! She is without a doubt the most popular fictional T-Cats story character from ThunderCats who wasn't even in the actual animated series, T-Cats fans would love to see a figure based on! Fans can make their own of course, but i'd kill for; 'The Four Horsemen' to produce a highly detailed figure/statue bust of her though!

If they do reboot TC, I hope they make animation similar to the original cartoon. Then everyone wins. I don't know they don't make new toons with better animation than before but that build on the original looks.

That sucks!! - I was really hoping for the next line of Thundercats Classic. I was happy with Lion-O, Panthro, and Jackalman, however I wanted to see Tyrga, Cheetara, Snarf, Bengali, and Lynx-O as well as the Lunatic's. Why is it that this happens to my all-time favorite cartoon ever. First it was the cartoon and now the toy line. Feeling pssted off right now! How the hell did Warner Bros. get the license to Thundercats in the first place?
Let's be honest though, Thundercats has caught more of a break through the last reboot than Bravestarr. Last I heard of that one it was officially lost in Rights Limbo...

It galls me that a company that is willing to screw fans over owns Thundercats. I don't know what Mattel were playing at by just bailing on the whole thing. I don't see why we couldn't still have a classics toy line because if a film or new series came out then the toys would be based off that rather than the original show. Plus, it would probably flop anyway so I don't want that affecting a toy line based on the original show which has a massive fan base. That happened with Bandai because they were trying to create a new fan base and appeal to a new generation which didn't work.

oh yeah, and thay could sell a pack of heads to help people mix and mach what thay want. they could even put a few of their own character ideas in there and that would be a bonus cuz they got a lot of characters they make up of their own that are awesome. Could even get maybe a weapons pack out of it where you buy the weapons pack and the head pack and that's how you'd help complete the figure that you wanted to get. essentially after you're all done buying everything you can put it all together and wall Aaaa. who wouldn't like that? an action figure and a puzzle all in one. Hell you can call them puzzle Masters or something like that. thay already have the reputation of making figures that can be mixed and matched so win-win. thay could make money and if done right no lawsuits. and it could be offered up by January 2019 or june of that year.

Those Thundercats figures have terrible paint job. So, it's not a big loss. Give the Thundercats license to NECA. They will make accurate and awesome figures.
Strange considering Warner Bros., appears to still be interested in licensing the Thundercats line to Mezco. Hence, I am still very optimistic for the future.

The Bandai ones were superior both in sculpt and articulation...the Mattel ones' were just another lazy remold of that ugly He-Man base body like the DCUC have.
I just don't get it. Why don't people want thundercats anymore? The reboot was awesome and the toys didn't sell. Then they made action figures based on the old 80s version and they still flopped.
Their animals with swords, kids and adults should love these. Are tablets and smartphones really killing the toy market.

i guess he means they have been really late getting these figures out, they were suppose to be shipped out ever since feb, and then they said July 31 and there's no such date lol and here we are and we still haven't receive the first order yet, I didn't like the fact that Matty didn't let you use paypal but they atleast get your order to you most of the time, then what makes it even worst they are being silent about the shipment that was suppose to be out by the end of july, this is the second delay !
Great this is a huge disappointment to me. I haven't been impressed with Super7's Heman figures lately. They make the same figure repaints and Filmation and a few other various things no one really cares about. That's my collecting days over
