I really like the comment regarding how we define 'built to last'. The idea that an object's beauty inspires the beholder to ensure it's survival is amazing. It reminds me of a nature documentary which described how young animals often have aesthetic features such as big eyes, specifically to look 'cute' and vulnerable to the mother and ensure protection.
