Great Otway Outing Motorbike Tour March 28&29 2021

It's been a while since this tour finished but I've finally got around to completing the video. We had five tour guests on this ride, but for two of them the tour didn't quite go to plan. Nick on his 1983 Tenere 600, was plagued with bike issues which cut his tour short. Lachlan discovered that his 30+ years of riding on the road didn't help him ride on the dirt or sand or rocks. So he spent most of the tour following the support vehicle on the bitumen. As usual there was plenty of laughter, fun and great riding.
This tour included, Eddy on his Yamaha WR450, Dave on his Suzuki RMX450, Darrin on his Suzuki DR650, Scooter on his KTM690, Paul on his KTM690 & Husky 501, Lachlan on his DRZ400, Nick on his 1983 Yamaha Tenere 600 and me on my DRZ400, Dozer.

What ended up being the problem with the tenere? Those old 600’s are supposed to be bullet proof

I’m not sure what the problem or solution was, but the mechanic that fixed it had decades of experience working on the Yamahas and owned three of this exact bike. He had the same issue with two of his bikes, was able to fix one and not the other. He successfully fixed this one, but not long after it developed electrical issues.
