It's very sad after 1991 Maniratnam always opted for AR and never approached IR for his films. I don't mind AR in his films but IR did 9 films with Mani and all films were big hits. In between he should have done some film with IR but he didn't. That's how it is. But very sad. Once Tamil cinema became very commerical and market oriented IR lost out on those grounds only.
