Saw you were profiling I-81 (and all of those trucks). I remember that well from my days there back in the late 80's. I figured there was no way you would escape stopping by The 'Burg. Proud JMU alum here. Love The 'Burg! Thanks for the ride down memory lanes!!!
In New Market Theres a field where there was a battle fought (civil war) that left a field of empty shoes! Harrisonburg is known as the Shenandoah valley!
Yes. The school chipped in May of 72 for a trip to Gettysburg, Harper's Ferry and New Market. That was when schools were ok spending to help students broaden their horizons. That's all I liked about the town, the Jr high and High School rich kids were snobs.
/I did not see one person walking on any sidewalks. And downtown? Who Died? For a college town, it was pretty boring not like Blacksburg. Maybe the college campus is where all the action is.
I've been there a few times, it's pretty quiet when school's out. This might be a false impression. Seemed like a nice small town, very low crime, bookstores, coffee shops, college-town kind of things. Might be crowded at times!
Harrisonburg, Virginia a beautiful laid back city, about an hour and forty five minutes from Roanoke my hometown 👍
Well, this was fun. I lived in Harrisonburg for twelve years so thanks for the memories.
Harrisonburg Is one of my favorite Virginia cities because of JMU. Its amazing how many people you see walking around at the campus
Thanks for the memories. Graduated High school in 81. Looks about the same.

I grew up in Harrisonburg. Liberty Street was German Street up until WW1.
Damn ww1?? You must have been around for all three floods
It's funny that section of S Liberty St that leads up to JMU hardly anyone actually does 25 through there lol
Functionally its a 35 but I always take the opportunity to cruise
Exit 245 off I-81 is the primary exit of JMU.
Lovely town. I've been there before. Where are you going next in on Interstate 81, Winchester or New Market?

To me Harrisonburg is how a college town should be designed.......I didn't realize how many people know about Harrisonburg and the Shenandoah Valley
I live here! Love this!!!
It’s better when jmu students aren’t here lol
There was also this other one where a man come out the atmosphere and he glided and you're probably leaking from a pie or in between low
Didn't the basketball player Ralph Sampson come from Harrisonburg?
