    When i was a kid we had a problem with fuel theft, so we hid the fuel tank because it was on a trailer. Then we filled an old standing fuel tank with calcium chloride and wouldn't you know it but we found two guys broke down about 2 mile from the yard cursing up a storm and that wouldn't accept any help from us. ( since they new who they were stealing from i guess)

      I'm afraid fuel theft is commonplace here in the UK as are quad and side-by-sides but they have even started stealing heating oil (kerosene) from houses using electric pumps and flexible plastic hose into tanks in the back of vans.
      Much more serious from an agricultural aspect is the developing theft of GPS globes and monitors or livestock rustling particularly sheep.

      We just switched tanks. Diesel went in the gas , gas went in the diesel. We knew and let me tell u a gas engine doesn't make it far when it's trying to ignited diesel. We also put the high way diesel in the off road and about 2 weeks later my boss pulled in and grabbed a big cotton swab and swabbed these two truck that were new in 08 almost brand new and these guys had no off road diesel. He swabbed it and there it was red dye clear as mud. But just switch the tanks when u get them. U have to change the nozzles because diesel nozzle is bigger. Plus what kind of freaken scum bags steals another man's fuel. Should be a Han*ing offense. RUclips don't ban me for that I'm not wishing anyone harm......

    Louisiana Farmer here… very interesting seeing the different challenges we face, whether it be weather (see what I did there), resources, or any other obstacle presented daily on a farm. Almost more interesting are the similarities every farming operation inevitably encounters, even on opposite ends of the Mississippi River. Awesome content my dude, I can’t even imagine the effort it takes to film a day on the farm. I wish you all the success in the future!

I admire the perseverance, still I think to be successful you will have to accomplish two things 1) Alter your weather to get warm dry conditions 2) Change your soil type to sandy loam. I have faith in you and if you can pull this off, you will blow past 1 million subscribers. All kidding aside at some point the desire to succeed needs a reality check from the need to make money.

      There are some things that are impossible to do, unfortunately for Zach, what he's trying to do, it's seasonal based and right now, it just isn't the right time even though season wise it is, weather wise, nope. Cheers :)

    • @adrianklaver113
      @adrianklaver113 3 года назад

      @@Ham68229 My point being that at his latitude, in his region, the chances that the season and weather will align correctly is slim. It is like the old timers here(Western Washington) talking about the sugar beet crop. Fall weather tended to be like it is currently, windy and wet, so there where more subpar to terrible years then good years to get the beets out of the ground. Eventually they gave up and moved on to other things as the money wasn't there.

I'm retired now but still have a strong work ethic and hope to possibly work for a farmer here in the south some day.

    We found that you can use that strip tiller but putting your fert on the corn when it needed it gained 100 more Bu/Ac. So the cost of the tool does not pay.
    Put Fert (small amount) up front then watch the V stage and give the corn fert with your Sprayer. Pays more, and you have the tool that will give you a better bu/ per Ac that will pay for the tine material and then some.

    In regard to DEF: I work in long haul trucking; unforutnatley we've had more units than desireable "fenced" due hiring concerns/driver shortage. Anyway, turns out there's something to be said about DEF "expiring" after months of non-use causing exaggerated and similar aftertreatment issues to we see all the time with DEF equipment. I don't know if there's a stabalizer, like you'd use with fuel, that helps that process. Just passing a heads up.
    Our affected units sat during hot/humid summer months (2-4mos.) in the TN vellay without being refreshed w/ new DEF. Colder temps up in MN may not have the same effect. Something we learned this year, nonetheless...

    • @Plyst3
      @Plyst3 3 года назад

      Yeah the def system does NOT like the condensation from them hot humid days. Likewise that stuff freezes at about 10 degree or so. No stabilizer that I know of. Might be a good idea to siphon out if your gonna park em for a while.

    • @Erik21088
      @Erik21088 3 года назад

      Just have to take the DEF out as much as possible. Also never store DEF in direct sunlight. DEF is a 32.5% Urea solution, it usually has a shelf life of somewhere around 12 months. When DEF sits too long (especially in direct sunlight), the Urea will evaporate, wich leads to SCR issues.

    Around mpls the word is the post office held a hiring fair for the holiday season help and not enough people showed up. So if a post office needed 20 seasonal workers they could of got 3. So you can figure how long it is going to take to get packages out of the buildings and to your door. I talked to my postman and they are not allowing vacation days from November 1 to at least December 31.
