He’s scrutinizing her He tried to criminalize her for not being informed that her former manager was a rapist and that because she didn’t know she’s a bad person. On top of that he started digging because she did not having a dramatic enough reaction (more truly verbal response) towards it. She isn’t comfortable. And to interrogate her integrity when she’s not giving you the verbal emotional response you wanted makes you a shitty reporter not her a shitty person. Lights handled it with poise and strength and chose her words carefully. She stayed respectful to both her former manager and the network. To put her in the middle of that former manager vs the network that ur in the middle of interviewing with is a terrible terrible position to put someone through. Go her,but fuck y’all. Lights isn’t the bad guy here.
Not just the comment about Jian, but when asking her about doomsday prepping and "have you thought about why that dystopian apocalypse appeals to you" comment just sounded so condescending the way he said it. I had headphones in and clicked over to a different tab, just hearing him speak to her without watching the video too really made me hear how almost disgusted he sounded, talking down to her. Really do not like this interviewer. Not professional and just rude.
It was SUPER rude of him to mention the Ghomeshi thing. She had nothing to do with that entire situation. Obviously it was a stressful, maybe even traumatic time to find out your long-time manager is a criminal. But implying some sort of involvement or blame in the middle of the interview where she is trying to talk about her comic? Not cool.
This is so sad to watch because Lights tries so hard to keep a positive attitude within herself, her lifestyle, art and music. This guy is so negative and does not sound like he enjoys interviewing people. Just from the tone of his voice you can tell he's condescending. The mere fact that he cut her off when she was talking... made me come away from this interview feeling negative. He definitely couldn't grasp anything she was saying and made this whole experience suck. Damn dude.
when she said indie i knew she meant "i recently started reading saga and was inspired' because 1. everyone who reads saga feels that and 2. it was created by an incredible female artist. no shade though, saga is top tier
when she said, lean on people you love, and he quickly fired back, what do you mean?, her pause felt like an internal dialog where she freaked out on this guy, then realized she didnt want to do that, and then she gave him an answer. I've never liked the way this guy interviews and the questions he asks, but it wasn't as bad as some other people in the comments make it seem.
here's a thought, you're on youtube so why don't you search her name and do some research? this was also an almost 15 minute long video so I don't really see how you could not understand what she does from the video...
so what you're really saying is a person is only as good as the work they've done before, but without that what are they and why can't a person be judged on one piece of their work rather than what you say they did good in the past.
She’s a singer and artist! Started out in electropop then moved to alternative and straight pop with dubstep influences. EDM type stuff with better melodies, and she makes an acoustic version of each album she drops

Wow. Can't believe he put her on the spot about Jian...wtf
If you notice she is NOT comfortable talking about certain things, you directly move on. She handled that in such a humble way.

I'm just so in love with her! I strive to constantly maintain the attitude and confidence she holds. Thank you, Lights for all that you are!

this guy is such a jerk. Lights handled this much more gracefully than most would.

I felt like he was attacking her in this interview, even though he couldn’t find anything

@@lovexlightsx3 I was trolling you, I knew who she was before she started doing her vlogs since and listened to her back when she only had one album.
