Red Grouper Catch Clean Cook Tampa Bay Offshore Bottom Fishing

- In this video, Captain Tater and I went offshore in search of snapper and grouper. We stopped at a spot 16 miles offshore of Tampa Bay, Florida in roughly 60 feet of water. We dropped down both threadfins/pilchards and pinfish on knocker rigs. We caught quite a few white grunts and small red grouper, but Tate was able to catch a keeper sized red grouper. I then show you how to filet a red grouper and my easy recipe for pan fried fish.

When I was a lil boy we went to Madeira beach in Tampa and caught 48 fish including red grouper and grey snapper they so much fun to catch
What an awesome day on the water!! When Tater jumped in I almost spit out my drink!! The red grouper looks amazing!! Those grunts are also amazing table fare and a lot of people wouldn’t know it wasn’t snapper. Love the videos! Keep’m comin 🇺🇸🇺🇸 #EvergladesSeasoning #Aftco

That’s funny. I live like 10 minutes away from the Hook Up
I'm going to sneak out there (not too far!) when its calm like that in my 15' Mako skiff this kingfish season. How far out were you here? How deep? We get more calm days like that than the boys on the east coast for sure.
This spot was 16 miles out in like 55/60 feet. Also, the kingfish are starting to show up. I went out 10 miles on saturday and caught my new pb king at 28.4 lbs. Of course I decided to leave my cameras at home that day
@@SeeYaDude Thanks for the report......nice smoker you got there.
Hey brother. Im an avid kayak fisherman on the west coast. Are fish like these you caught today like grouper accessible by kayak inside tb or are they mainly just further out in the gulf? Here in sd we fish for california yellowtail and wsb and rock fish and are all relatively close to shore due to some deep areas close in.
You can catch them in the deeper shipping canals inside Tampa Bay if you find some good bottom structure
Thanks man. Love the channel bro keep em comin.
Did you fillet your mustache off? Lol wrong video I know but I mustache anyway
Question on finding good spots offshore. Do you typically use the public reefs or do you have your own numbers? I've heard the key is finding hard bottom, which can be a bit like a wild goose chase if you don't know where you're looking. I'd be interested in your thoughts or a video on locating good spots offshore. Don't worry, not looking to steal your numbers :)
I always start with public numbers that you can find online. I then troll some baits around that spot while keeping on eye on the bottom for any good bottom, ledges, or fish. Another way is when you are running out to some numbers to keep an eye on the bottom, often times you'll see some good rocks or fish and then you can mark the spot and hit it on the way back in. It really is tough to find some numbers on your own, but it's often well worth the time
