I could almost swear that I saw a sportster in there, somewhere!!! Lmao... Looked more like an old school run from the 60s - 70s. Proof that sportys make nice choppers...
For anyone wanting to do this, don’t go alone. Riding with a group takes care of the mental part of the trip. Being alone on the road is fun until you’re alone.
The 650cc bike was the motor back then. I was younger and drove 250cc-500cc rice burners,I’ve only owned rice burners.. drove a few HD’s up to a 96 inch... But I now got a 1500cc rice burner, I want an1836 cc to retire with. I remember the choppers.. never liked them.. can’t haul ass.. way to dangerous.. No front brake is near idiot. Bikes are a blast.. the adrenaline rush is addictive. But comfort and safety is paramount. I drive 600 miles a week with my iPhone and Bluetooth music and helmet speakers or ear buds. It was ok back then, but it’s not near as popular today. And it’s just as uncomfortable and the added danger is not a smart thing to do, if you want to be an almost daily rider as I am. They brought us to today and I’m grateful. It’s today’s rider that will bring tomorrow’s rider into the future. Flying bikes, electric bikes.. and beyond.. stay safe and ride them highways.. bring tomorrow’s bikers a safe and comfortable future in biking.
great vid some hard riding. How come people now seem to start their bikes by standing next to them? All the old boys I know & films from back in the day show them kicking over from the saddle?
What's funny is a kickstand that holds the bike at over 45% then try to kick it over with out breaking the stand frame tab. Off the frame. Anyone got a welder?😜

Chop the rear, get a 1200 sportster, and put on a springer front end. Do it to a dyna if you want. If it’s made of metal it can be chopped. On my last project (39 knuckle) I came to a harsh sTand still on work while my Pap who lives in North Carolina was rebuilding the engine in his spare time when he wasn’t working in customer bikes. He’s getting older so starting to slow a bit. Anyway point being I had a 79 KZ1000 I had picked up awhile back for a few bux so I started choppin on that and made a rad little bobber that absolutely screams, so yeah get a bike, and a mentor and just start working. Biggest thing is don’t rush. When it’s your first one you just wanna get out and ride but it’s def worth it in the end when u do it right!!! Have fun!!
You could get away with a 1200 but honestly the sky is the limit with choppers big twins mike fine choppers as do any air cooled bikes from Japan. I’ve even seen first generation two stroke Kawasaki H2 choppers
Try british single cylinder motorcycle, such a BSA, Norton, Matchless, etc..... Bike around 40's till 50's...I'm usually touring into 300km - 1000km distance..., a little bit sleep... 24hour run, ride a matchless 350cc... Drink more coffee, You will get different experience 😎👍
To actually ride old school, you must have boots on, and some leather, NO flannel shirts or sneakers, definitely not, and the music for God sake it's, " born to be wild " ,by steppenwolf, not that shit
