Living in South Dakota...not a lot of cutdown usage. In fact I've been calling ducks for over 30 years and have never used one. Now a buddy of mine comes back from a hunt I'll just call 'down south' with lots of cutdowns used pretty much standard. He's in love. He can't call so now it's my job to travel down the cutdown trail. If I was going to try one where would I best start. Mondo, Mondo S, Rockin R, ...I'm not proud and I've got no idea. What has a good clear (as clear as they come) high note but then still most of the 'bark'. Asking for it all...I know so where would I begin to toy with a cutdown. I mean, RTN has about a zillion...as is their style. Need a starting point. Flat, open prairie...no flooded timber...just telephone poles.
Go with the rockin r. I’ve had an original mondo, la, and now a rockin r. It’s the the best in my opinion hands down. It has a bigger mouth piece that I like and I think it allows me to get more realistic sounds out of the call
@@bradymorphew2543 thank you for taking the time to reply...speaks volumes of you. I'll take your advice and begin with the 'R'. We'll see how it fits in with my RM's & Calef calls on the potholes...next year.
@@kellyduncan9303 sorry buddy, just saw this. But no problem at all. R is a great call and the LT is also another very easy call from the mondo line. Easiest and best sounding though is the r

Echo also makes a poly cutdown that is a great beginner call for the price

Both kinda sound the same, what's the difference between the S and LAS
Definitely #2
I’m guessing the LAS is call #2 cause it sounds like is has more bass sound
1 LTS, 2 S
Call #1 was Mondo S. Call #2 was Mondo LAS
First one sounded way better! I'm going 1. Mondo S 2. LA.S
Love the rasp of the 2nd better
Las all the way
I wanna see the rnt mvp vs the echo xlt
