The game would have been 10/10 if it actually directed you in ways to complete the game to make sense. I ended up getting caught up in Sigurd’s story and kept doing them missions and didn’t know how pretty much all the other stories and even side missions link to the game. Feel like they could’ve done more with the story towards the end of the game. Felt like the end was a bit rushed. Nonetheless still a great game just a bit disappointed towards the end. I expected a great war with king aelfred and story line to kill king harald and take back control of norway. Also I feel like there should’ve been more to ubba’s death instead of just finding him on your own. Maybe like a mission where you bring him to halfdan and have a funeral to send him to valhalla. A lot of missed opportunities towards the end of the game.

Might be just me but I couldn't give a rats arse about the 'real world' aspect of assassin's creed. All this shite with Isu's and prophets became convoluted and tedious the second it was introduced at the end of AC2. Why can't it just be a game about an illuminati type cult throughout history as a springboard to getting to explore all these interesting time periods? It simply doesn't need the extra layer of boring, tedious storytelling. I refuse to believe anyone buys an assassins creed game for anything other than the historic roleplaying aspect.
I find myself skipping all real world cutscenes and racing through the segments to get back in the animus. I also find the god side quests (DLC in Odyssey and the Asgard missions in Valhalla) extremely tedious, poorly written and poorly implemented. It should be exciting to visit these places but they feel like lifeless sandboxes with linear fetch quests attached.
    SPOILERS
Also, why is Sigurd staying considered the 'Good ending'? Absolutely nothing happened to endear Eivor to him. He was a completely shitty character that we were told by the story we care about without actually providing reasons to. It's like the writers of Game of Thrones wrote AC: Valhalla's story.

For those that don't understand the Odyssey thing, in AC Odyssey you are basically hunting down your Brother or Sister, depending on the gender you picked, and throughout the game several times your insane Sibling came up on conversation, and because i chose to tell my mother that she should'nt have too high of hopes that Kassandra (sister) would come to her senses, that apparently was enough for me to get the Neutral ending, and ho boy did that piss me off!

After seeing modern day stuff, secret ending and so on, I don't if Basim/Loki can really be considered the bad guy. Odin killed Loki's son, Fenrir, who was not really "a wolf", probably just a isu/human/??? hybrid. Understandably, Loki is vengeful and on mission to revenge his son. Just like on a mission to revenge their family (Ezio), son (Bayek) or brother (Eivor), they have killed many people who necessarily didn't deserve it. Loki/Basim only failed to understand that in this case Eivor didn't really embrace nor understand the memories of his Sage heritage, but rather shut Odin off completely so it was not really Odin he was trying to kill.
I'm really looking forward to the next game. It feels like the story is back on track.

Wait, so your "choices" amount to whether Sigurd returns to England? Why the hell would I care about Sigurd, honestly? I thought the choices we made had a meaningful impact on the story.
I guess it makes sense, since Ubisoft is technically telling a linear story, so they can't let you have too much impact on the world, but still. So disappointing. I like the game, but these endings are not good in my opinion.

-punch Sigurd or Basim in Oxford

Idk why you’d want the bad ending though, I like having Sigurd around in the end. It would feel a bit hallow for me if he wasn’t, like trying to free him for half of the game was for nothing. There’s already enough loss for Eivor in the epilogue, no need to add losing Sigurd too.

I kind of enjoyed the “bad ending” more. Seemed more realistic. Sure, I shagged Sigurd’s boo in the snoo and pissed him off but where was he the entire game except raving like a madman? Eivor deserved Jarldom. But I felt the story became more complete by letting Aelfred live. And that story about Aelfred self-exiling himself to Western Wessex and even getting scolded by the old pauper for burning the bread is a true story in history, so I felt the ending was more historically accurate.
