HTC evo 3D was the first. I even have the 3D videos shot with the phone on my channel from years ago, but you need red/blue glasses to watch it on your OC screen.

Great review but do you have to be looking at the screen to see the holograms or is it like the unrealistic commercial where they show it from the side and you can still see it. That part didn't make sense to me.

Exactly. Marketing has perverted the concept of holography. Everything is either utilizing Pepper's Ghost (first used in 1862) or Stereoscopy (first used in 1838). We are simply taking old concepts and repackaging them with modern tools. In a sense, its wasted resources and innovation. Yet, people still keep swiping those cards to buy this crap.
Yeah but it shifts with your eyes and has very accurate air touch so you can manipulate things. Unlike the MS hololence which has "mixed reality" (AR) this is closer to projected objects.
I'm not sure how useful the 3D feature will be. I had the "3D" HTC some years back that took 3D pictures and I realize this phone is way above a picture but I still don't know how it will be received by the public but it is a nice looking device. Thanks Saff.

Hmm, someone chime in if I'm wrong but I thought the HTC Evo 3D was the first phone with a glasses free 3D Display. Even had a dual lens 3D Camera capable of 3D Pictures and Video. I owned one for over a year and it was impressive for its time. Especially the custom roms with things like 3D Boot Animations. However it was only qHD so a 1080p Display would be MUCH better for glasses free 3D like this. Nice unboxing!

It should've come with a 3D camera equiped. 3D photos paired with a 3D camera (like a former htc phone did) adds a new layer of emotion(s) to a photo, at least that was my experience. Im looking foreward for your review :)

I had the 3d and while it was cool to show people for a little bit at the time..it quickly got old.. newer phones past by it and no one cared for the 3d after awhile. I'd like to see you if possible can compare the 2 if you can. Screen doesn't seem anything to write home about..Brightness wise but maybe you put it down a lot. But how does this compare to say the Idol 3? which honestly has the best display for a budget smartphone I've ever seen

Some countries are still using WCDMA while my country is using 3 and 4 GSM. A number of Companies now don't accept anything less than GSM4. These phones are WCDMA 3 while GSM is 2. No good in my country.

htc evo 3d was first 3D phone. Its was heavy, battery was bad , when seeing 2nd screen colors were not good and it was red in color. No other company tried 3D. Its better that we are going back to 3D. Companies should try new things good for us.

yep this is only the prototype not the finale version that includes 2 which means it leaks a lote of feature a just bought that phone and honestly the desplay is realy a 3D viewing but not holographic and even with that the 3D videos are sucks they hurt the eye and looks shady in a short word useless plus the camera is a piece of chit , they said its a sony cam but its all bullchit i compared it to samsung s3 cam and the S3 cam is a way ahead of it and wait untill the night comes and you will find that you bout blind phone , and you wanted a fast charge draining phone so this is what you are looking for it wont last a 2h with 3G internet i swear all what im telling is the trueth becous i just bought it from an online store and it was nothing that i expected

lg did 3d and also there was a few Chinese phones that had full 3d ie the screen was always 3d rather than a 3d option in a few limited apps
