TERRIBLE advice. No legit and professional photographer or videographer would ever give raw footage. My sister didn’t have the budget for a videographer with the experience she would’ve liked, but she had some funds available and put a post online asking if any videographers wanted to do the job for the listed price to gain experience, exposure, work for their portfolio. It was an amazing beach venue, with a carosel in a gorgeous antique building and anyone would love to film/take photos in it. This college kid responded and sent her some work, said he would do it. Let me tell you, he was a huge highlight to the wedding. He was so excited and eager to work, he set up go pros to get multiple angles of the ceremony, came with bubble wands and noise makers to get kids attention and keep them smiling. He was just an amazing person just having him there was a pleasure and we honestly weren’t expecting anything over the top. Within 48 hours he had already edited a huge portion and sent us a preview. It was out of this world!! We couldn’t wait for the full video, which he of course, nailed as well. My sister and her ex have since divorced lol but I will always recommend her videographer and we still love his work. I think it’s tacky to ask for discounts or expect someone to work for less then they’re worth. But if someone is just starting out and offers to work at a reduced rate to gain experience, that’s different. But you as the person hiring them, also need to know your expectations need to be realistic for what they’re capable of. Oh, and we made sure all of the workers we hired ate and were taken care of. We had food trucks, dessert tables, buffet. At one point we even told the photographer, her helper and the videographer sit down, we don’t need pictures of everyone’s mouth full, eat with us! And having them sit and chit chat was so much fun, they got to ask about family, relationships and who to focus the camera on more and stuff.

Having a videographer and photographer for your wedding is a luxury. To have a very good one is expensive. But it's all art and everyone has a different style and vision. That's why you always do your research and look at their work first before deciding.

Since they won't post the full case (which is why I'm glad I didn't subscribe to this channel), I'll tell you - I saw the full case today on tv and the wedding video was crap. It was in black-and-white (altho certain sections were in full color), and please don't get me started on the editing. It was the absolute worst. The videographer is not a professional at all, and the Plaintiff and his husband want their $250 back? PUH-LEASE! They should've checked her references, but instead, the videographer was recommended to them by a friend of theirs. A very messy wedding video and I'm sorry, but they got what they paid for.

Well, of course the video wasn't good, the defendant stated herself she went to school for videography, of course she wasn't seasoned enough to put up a good quality product. $250 is a steal for this kind of product.

@@johnathanpatrick6118 Exactly, and that's why they don't get their money back. They got what they paid for.

I beg to differ. The groom sued her for 1,800 USD which is absolutely ludicrous if you ask me. He did only pay 250$ which is again nothing compared to having her to stand on her feet for about 12 hours (recording the whole ceremony). And also, he did admit that she showed him her work and he was clearly impressed enough to appoint her as the wedding videographer.
She must definitely work on sharpening her skills. But as far as money is concerned, the video was certainly worth more than 250 …. My take.

There is no principle in law as "you get what you pay for". YOU GET WHAT WAS PROMISED TO YOU. The video you described fails to live up to the minimum standard of what a reasonable person would assume a wedding video would consist of.

She should've counter claimed and sued him for all of the hour's she spent on his wedding day. The video was not the greatest quality, but like JJ said, He got what he paid for! Atleast she captured all of the key moments and stayed the whole day... He's a trip! Smh

I agree. There's a lot of people thinking they are film stars and want to waste thousands in a lavish production that is only of interest to the bride and groom anyway, who are likely to get divorced anyway. You'd never think the world is going to ruin with satanic world leaders and all their harmful ways, while people want to dress up and pretend to be stars. GROW UP @@

If I ordered food and it came out cold, I best be getting my money back or at least a new hot meal. I agree with judge Judy but not with this example. You pay for a hot meal so you should get one. Now if you don’t like the hot meal you chose then that’s on you and you don’t get your money back
