one reprieve with fuelpod kiosks, is it remembers your card used for your tail #, so if you use it again, you wont have to put your tail # again at any airport with that kind of kiosk.
Just a comment regarding a lack of water in your hanger. I have a similar situation and what I have done is to take a new 55-gallo plastic barrel and had a buddy come fill it up for me the very first time. I dropped a small pump in it and now have a ready water source to do minor clean-ups when needed. I make a habit of hauling 2.5 - 5 gallons every time I go back and keep it topped up. I learned to be very judicious in my water usage or else I need to make more trips or carry more water, LOL.
Just another one of those things we have to do, but we do it for the love of flying. I do a major full-plane wash at the wash pad at the beginning of spring and again at the end of fall. Touch-ups in between flights and staying covered under the hangar seem to help. Except for that pesky bird!
Plexus is hard to get and apparently expensive now, my main use for it was to keep track ball mice moving freely. There are people who are saying that they have used Pledge for years on airplane windshields and on motorcycles with no ill results. As for pigeons I've found them to be creatures that cause nothing but problems.
I bought mine some time ago - I didn't realize it was getting scarce. I did find some on sale at Touch and Go Pilot Supplies. I might need to stock up in case it becomes sold out.
@@rv12sg My can is just about to run out after having it for a few years. Next time I go to the store I'm getting a can of Pledge to start testing with. The people who have recommended it say that the only problem that they detected is that it attracts bees. I've never had a single problem with bees myself so for me that is a non issue. In fact I quite like bees.
@@rv12sg I bought the can of Pledge "expert care lemon enhancing polish" to test on my track mouse. It appears to do exactly what I wanted which was to eliminate rolling friction.
Funny you should say that - we have a plastic owl on our patio at home to discourage birds from settling on the furniture and "doing their business" there. I have to keep moving the owl around. Otherwise the birds figure out that he's not real. Per your suggestion, I will take him to the hangar for a while and see if that stops the problem. Thanks for the comment.
Does your airport have MOGAS? I would not be putting AVGAS in that Rotax all the time. Better to buy MOGAS in town (preferably Non-ethanol) and filling my tanks from cans. It really doesn't hold that much fuel...
Hi Scott! I hear you. Others at my airport do run Mogas. I have elected to do 100LL with a dash of Decalin Runup because I often use my plane for trips away where Mogas is not readily available. So far my oil changes have shown no buildup of lead and I hope that continues. If all I did was local flying, I'd be right behind you at the 93 octane pump.
Although it is true that RUclips features some channels dedicated to DIYers, others are like mine is. My channel is about the experience of owning a plane. We feature trip travelogues, maintenance issues, costs of ownership, and sometimes just small talk about issues we run into. We aim to be that room at the airport where we sit around and chat in a folksy way about flying airplanes. Anyone is welcome to sit in.
Wash/WaxALL by Aero Cosmetics. I use it on my truck, my camper, and will use it on my future plane, because that's what it's formulated for.
I'll have to look into that, too.

Well now, that is useful. I wonder how many airports have the QTPod installed. For visibility it is head and shoulders over what we had before.

Love your sense of humor! Thanks for the update!
Thank you, sir! You are too kind.
Get a BB gun
Have one ready and waiting if the need arises. Fortunately so far, it's been two days with no bird. I hope (for his sake) he has moved on.
You need a bb gun
I have to confess that that idea has occurred to me, too. It'll be a last resort, but it might come into play if there's no other way.
@@rv12sg fried pidgin breast is pretty good. It would be my first choice
LOL
