  • Joshiro Maruyama is Japanese judoka competing in -66 Kg weight category. He is current World champion (2019). Maruyama is extraordinarily technical judoka. He uses a lot of different technical and tactical tricks to set up his favorite techniques: Uchi Mata, Tome Nage and Sode Tsurikomi Goshi. His explosive Uchi Mata is quite possibly the most spectacular move in modern Judo.
    Name of the song: BLOOD ~Main Theme~ - Kodoku no Kake OST - Hiroyuki Sawano

  • @arzubayrakjudoka
    @arzubayrakjudoka 5 лет назад +25

    Absolutely perfect. He has all the features that must be in a judoka. Intelligence, tactics,
    flexibility, speed, strength, explosive and perfect balance.... Judo is exactly that .. Probably his kumi kata is very soft. The force is only felt when it enters the technique. Soft and explosive ... This was the most important thing our teachers told us when learning judo... Now we want from our athletes ... I'm going to make this video watch my athletes many times. Thank you very much... Indeed, a breed we will not always see...

    • @SauThirTonyJaa
      @SauThirTonyJaa 4 года назад +2

      Have you sparred with a Japanese before ? As far as I remember, their kumi kata is anything but "soft". They literally had you the moment they got your gi. Don't have to even talk about throw execution. These guys breathe judo. These vid highlights may falsely show you their soft kumikata. Maybe try watching a full match ? :)

    • @arzubayrakjudoka
      @arzubayrakjudoka 4 года назад +2

      @@SauThirTonyJaa Actually yes, i fought a Japanese. The basis of this sport this softness. It is not a constant force, but a force that is felt only when needed. I think what i said was misunderstoot. This your opinion, the other one is mine. I respect.

    • @GrapplerKingdom
      @GrapplerKingdom  5 лет назад +5

      He is most certainly extremely athletic, but my point was that he rarely tries power through his matches, instead he uses his agility, skills and tactical flexibility to get the victory.

      @@sergeant_dornan_ Ono is a monster of technique. No one but him can throw for ippon an opponent who has inside grip and stretched arms. Especially in the final of the world championships. This requires technique beyond imagination. Strength has little to do here.

      Raphaël Gracia of course he has a great technique, he is a world class judoka, but you can’t deny that he is overpowering his competitors before the throw almost all the time. Secure a comfortable grip, break off balance and throw.

      Level of competition in Judo is way higher than bjj. I'm not getting into argument what's better. It's just matter of fact that Judo has the strongest competition out of all combat sports. Even boxing is less competitive. Let alone "young" disciplines like bjj, grappling, belt wrestling, etc.

    • @canonisensys1653
      @canonisensys1653 5 лет назад +5

      first of all judo tournaments are as real as it gets no ass kissing no bullshitting no doping
      second of all ronda rousey and karo are two middle level judokas at best and they were fucking beasts and kayla a top level judoka has mauled everywoman she fought
      thirdly i wouldn't think that he would win at adcc looking at the rules and how good the competitors are but he certainly hold his own and maybe make it to the semi finals unless its marcelo garcia i will always see judokas as the best grapplers in the world
