I love my 2001 Bandit 1200S. Bought it new. Still bone stock, and plenty of power on tap. When I bought a new 04 Corvette, that car's acceleration reminded me of the effortless way the Bandit passes cars on little two lane roads. Downshifting is optional, and passing is over with very quickly.
Don’t need a turbo for the street they will smoke most cars out there except all but the fastest ie Lambo’s Corvettes, ZR1 Camaro’s, GT 500 Shelby still don’t want to race those for money anyways! And with my Suzuki GSX-S1000 it’s usually after 100mph where they get me! I kill everything to 100mph even the faster bikes like busa and GSXR just cause of weight, torque, and it’s geared low for a liter bike! Plus mine is turned up I’m making over 154hp and 80 ft lbs of torque and the bike only weights 434lbs with gas! Getting the huge heavy exhaust off was almost 20lbs! Now I just have a open header with a open drag pipe! It’s loud but sounds good! And I have pirreli tires now to far better then the dunlop it just goes now before you would see the Traction control kick on some out of the whole now I don’t even use it and don’t spin! Wheelie sure I do have to short shift 1st and sometimes 2nd to keep the wheel down! You hit 3rd your gone though that gets me through the 1/4 mile In 10.3 seconds at 136mph! That’s my best ever time and it was at a out of town track closer to see level, my local track is 5000’ up so harder to make power unless your boosted them it don’t matter as much or any!
My 2002 bandit 1200 blew up at 143mph and caught fire, I recovered and looking for another bandit. I stayed on the bike until about 50mph until the flames got to hot then I jumped off.
