Having a faceless machine dealing with this issue would probably do more harm than good by disconnecting the parents from the children. And having it shut off mid-program or mid-game would be frustrating.

Well, if I was going to buy 15% of something worth £2000, I'd expect to pay about £300.

There is a simple way to stop them watching the TV or stop playing console, Unplug or switch of the thing and hide the remote. If you disconnect the Cables connecting the Console or Box to the TV they lose picture, If you turn it off they still lose picture and can't use the Console
