Jokes aside: What we see in these type of footage is actually happening between two pieces of glasses (a.k.a "slide" and "coverslip"). The sample containing cells or any microscopic organisms is squeezed between the "slide" and "coverslide". That's why we see these microorganisms moving only in 2D.

@@MorrisKemp Awesome! Thank you Morris. I will definitely credit you. Please let me know if there's a particular way you'd like that done. I was thinking I would credit you in the description and have a link to your original footage there as well as a credit on the video itself. Thanks!
Hi, it's an amazing video ! I wished to know if I can get the same clarity under a compound microscope ? Did you capture the film by keeping the camera on microscope's eye piece?
Just kinda thought about this. But the way I’m looking at the videos is like a 2d space the amoeba wrapped around the cell right can’t the cell go under it or no cuz it’s glass swished together. So if that’s the case in the human body would it wrap fully around the cell like a ball?
It's not the protist flailing around trying to escape, they can't move that quickly. What's actually happening is that the amoeba secretes enzymes at it, and the breaking down of the protist's cell membrane releases tiny bubbles of gas that causes it to look like it's shaking (it's exactly what happens inside your intestines when you digest food). This is similar to what happens every day in your body when your immune cells kill bacteria. So it is really hard for the protist to escape, because it is already caught by the enzymes we can't see with these optics.

I didn't upload the video, but to me this doesn't look like Paramecium. Looks like a Colpidium colpoda to me, but that's also barely more than a guess.
The paramecium be like "Oh shit! I'm stuck in a slide! I can only move in 2D!! NOOOOOOO"
In the camera its 2d only but idk whats happenin i aint a doctor
Actually all of the single cell lives live over the water 'cause their density is lower than the density of water.
@Kedi Hastasi
But why?
@@myk1137 thats not how microphysics works. They live in the molecular plane of the water.

Always thought it was funny how they act once caught. How some know they're about to be dinner and freak out while others are completely clueless.
Willation that’s just the same as me
Why is that, like how do they even "sense" they're caught
