    I think solar should submit these replays to harstems IODIS

  • @朕是神

    36:01 you see a red dot in the center of the screen.
    *IT IS NOT THE ACTUAL RED DOT* . The actual nuke is about a full screen down south. This red dot you see is a visual bug. Hopefully only present in the replay.
    The actual red dot is there at 36:03 a little bit to the bottom right left of the screen near the center after Solar scrolled the camera down a bit but before jumping the camera away, underneath the inner circle of the scan.
    The scan animation which would be red in default player color setting from Solar's view.
    -Brought to you by WinterSC's video analysis.

      I mean, I'm not making fun of him, of course, but shit happens and if you're a pro, and you play lots of games, you´ll end up facing every possible scenario. I've benn cheesed, nuked, nydused, carriered... i've lost to every possible unit, once even lost to a single zealot... I will never forget the moment when you paused the replay and declared: "Guys, this is 3am StarCraft, otherwise you would never do something like this." The explanation was fabulous and based off the comments it seemed like it was even true!

      A tournament wanting unique maps for prestige but not doing their due diligence by properly testing the map and then not taking responsibility for their mistake. Because let's be honest the problem wasn't the exploit, the problem was GSL not admitting they made a mistake, fixing it and giving Solar a rematch.

    I really liked the start with you laying out the context. I really like your casts in general so the full cast works for me. But I can see a more brief overcap of the new game working as well. As long as you provide the context in game. I'd love to see more of the kind of analytical content you did in the start. For example analysis of development of rivalries, specific players playstyle changing over time and stuff like that. I may be biased in this being a finn 😁 but I think I'd enjoy watching you go through for example Serrals career, the events leading to his dominance, the 2018 victory streak and then what changed (besides regression to mean) to end his reign. Serral being just an obvious example, I'm sure you can figure out a bunch of other stories worth telling from the history of SC2.
    In essence I'd love to see you do video essay/"commentary" style content covering SC2 or even gaming in general. You have the analytical ability to pull it off and I'm pretty sure there would be an audience for that kind of thing, not to mention youtube loves that stuff currently 😁

    Whole match good =) ...Especially with the pre-story at the front to show the significance. Those of us who aren't die-hard fans really don't get the significance of the backstory of things when it's shared in 20 sec of quick flash-back references. The start of this video really gives us a chance to come along for the ride =D

  • @TheHrb1234
    @TheHrb1234 2 года назад +6

    The pylon block was Parting at his best, figuring and studying outside the box strats to find a way to win. Parting deserved the win and Solar was the unfortunate person to be playing him at the time.

    • @Nilruin
      @Nilruin 2 года назад +9

      Parting absolutely deserved the win, sure. It was unconventional thinking and it's amazing.
      But the map creators fucked up and only Solar suffered because of it. The map shouldn't have been changed for the entire tournament. The other players playing on that map against Protoss should've had to play against it too. The fact that only Solar was allowed to experience that bullshit is why it's bad luck.
      This is the equivalent of changing rules in a soccer match during a tournament and not expecting the team that lost because someone exploited a loophole in the game to be upset about it. If you want to be fair and balanced, the rules should've been changed AFTER the tournament was over, not during.

    • @LittleRainGames
      @LittleRainGames 2 года назад

      The maps are not supposed to be like that, he did not deserve the win.
      That is like in an FPS where you find single sided geometry to hide behind, where you can shoot out of, but not be shot at.

    Hey I was thinking, you've done stuff like make pros fight with speed mods and things like that, what I'd love to see is seeing pro fights using some of the campaign units, not sure how that'd work if there are mods for that or what, and obviously it'd be imabalanced as hell but damn I'd love to see some of those teleporting swarm host or things like that played in an actual game

    I think the backstory at the beginning was awesome; I'd seen the previous 2 times Solar had been nuked; but the refresher made the story tighter. Like to see you continuing on this vein; but then again; I like your casts; so I'm probably a little biased.

    I like this kind of format. It is your strength to enrich your casting with starcraft insights, context and anecdotes as well as explaining the styles and thought processes of the players. If you watch from Solar's POV, not only is the Ghost semi-hidden by the terrain, but the red dot also got partially obscured by the subsequent scan (and the clusterfuck of red units and buildings all around).
    There could also be another issues at play here, and the fact that he wears eyeglasses may be a hint (the following is 100% speculation on my part, of course, and it can certainly be just a product of my autistic ass overanalyzing things, as always). You have been warned:
    1. Could it be that he had always had some type of very mild congenital colour blindness and hasn't realized it yet? Like Anomalous Trichromacy, for example. As these conditions can (sometimes) progress with age, we may be seeing the first warnings signs.
    2. "Computer eyeglasses" have become very popular lately, as it is believed that their anti-glare coating and blue light filtering lenses can mitigate the eye strain and fatigue caused by staring at a screen for too long*, and their features can also be incorporated into the lenses of prescription eyeglasses. Depending on the method of filtering, these lenses can have little to no tinting, making them indistinguishable from normal ones.
    As they interfere with normal light absorption by the eye's retina, they can certainly shift our perception of colours. There's also evidence linking them to decreased sensitivity to colour contrast.
    I don't know if there are rules about this, but he should definitively consider testing a Red-contrasting colour scheme (like Green or Teal), just to be sure.
    *It is worth nothing that there is no conclusive scientific evidence backing these claims. They seem to have been popularized by aggressive marketing campaigns done by interested parties, as there is no scientific consensus on the matter yet.
    3. It is just a fucking meme, lmao.

    Honestly as someone with pretty bad vision the nuke dot is almost invisible to me. Like, sometimes even if I know it's there (paused on a video and everything) I simply cannot see it.
    When terrans are doing things like scanning to make it harder to see I feel there is an argument to be made that there should either be a better indicator or none at all.

    • @legoupil1819
      @legoupil1819 2 года назад

      Yup, i'm really bad at the game but on a small monitor with my absolute dogshit eyes, nuking me is practically free. I don't think SC2 should be about eyesight but, well, then you also have widow mines and the cloak shimmer and i know it kinda is.
      (I do know it is a very minor part of the game, but it is not negligable. Spotting these things will make ypu better and have a better experience)

    • @Laezar1
      @Laezar1 2 года назад +2

      @@legoupil1819 True, but like, invisible unit are meant to be missed as like, the baseline, nuke warn you about them and the punishment for missing them is obviously huge, so I feel like they are meant to be spotted.
      Well I do have the same problem with the shimmer but it feels less cheap. And iit's more like spotting one makes you cool rather than not being able to spot it might instantly lose you the game
