I love how Cesare moves in this scene. Each step is graceful but menacing. This is, by far, one of the creepiest scenes in horror cinema. And that score...che bello!
I saw this my freshman year of college. I didn't know enough about classic film or German Expressionism to truly appreciate this movie, though. I was just looking for a horror flick, so of course I complained that it wasn't scary enough. Now that I know better, I watch this scene again and it just gives me chills.
Wat een tof muziek! Expressionistsche muziek..
I wrote music for this film, put Spanish subtitles and uploaded the video into my youtube channel. It was deleted by youtube due to copyright claims. The movie is more than a century old. How do you do it to avoid copyright claims?

I ended up here totally by accident and I do not regret it one bit. That is some ahead of its time stuff right there. Awesome.

Visually Dr. Caligari influenced so many movies I've watched, *The Crow* and especially Tim Burton's *Beetlejuice* comes to mind.
Absolut Brilliant! - Herr Schmidt!
Even when playing a total creep, Conrad Veidt is somehow lovely.
Right? Like, I love him, but he is absolutely terrifying in this scene!
Conrad had this weird gentleman's grace, something I noticed that Alan Rickman also possessed.
This is a wonderful Score! Exactly right.
Great job on the score!

This score makes this scene way scarier
Eine sehr gut musik haben Sie gemacht, Herr Schmidt !
In this movie, Cesare reminds me Edward Scissorhands.
I came to find out that it's inspiration off of this film. Awesome stuff!
Beautiful man, Mr. Veidt...ahead of his time and gone too soon.
Just watch last night love conrad veidt
Me too!

If happy endings are a must for you, then avoid this movie. Everyone ends up either dead or insane. Bwahahaa!
