Even scriptures say, Krishna played the flute for 16 years of his life. But then he gifted it to Radha and later on. It was Radha who played the flute for her entire life in the memory of the love Krishna was.
She said something important in the last: "At times we constrict our own thoughts for ourselves perhaps unintentionally unknowingly in a subtle way, we place these barriers on our perceptions that kinda hinder our thought, for whatever reason because you read something, someone said something, we tend to hide in the cocoon of our thoughts. Whats important to really try and do is kinda gauge now and then what these restrictions are and we can kinda overcome them. Its not easy to do so, but its a process. What kind of helps is at least it helped me is if you look into yourself for answers and if you push your own boundaries for youself first, kinda open your mind to widen your taste, I think things kinda fall in place. Thats what happened to me, for me it was acquiring these knowledge, absorbing the music, pushing the boundaries just for myself. When I looked at this in this way, I felt like all these barriers and constrictions kind of blurreed out and made no sense anymore. Thats something I think kind of helps. It not just music, it applies to anything."
Well articulated. We can do anything&everything, we must put our efforts, and be persistent to achieve what we want. All perceived boundaries can fall apart.
At the end I reached where you wanted your audience to be. "Be yourself, Do good and enjoy being you everything else will just fade away with time". Great thought and thanks for sharing it with us.
I was at her show last week.. this lady is brilliant! she sings, dances to the tune cheekily.. plays the flute amazing occasionally hitting on some percussion has some stories to share! really awesome :D
She actually showed us 3 skills that she's really good at: 1) Playing the flute in Carnatic style, 2) Singing in Hindustani style, 3) Speaking in public.
Hello, I too play bansuri and had some self doubting, etc. One helpful concept my guru instilled in me was simply to focus on listening to the sound I make. Everything is secondary to the sound, the actual tone produced. Once that is correct, everything else falls into place.
Rasika dear, you are simply beautiful.... I totally agree with you when you say that its we who limit ourselves and the best thing is coming out of these so called limitations... God bless you..
Rasika , you inspired me today by ur words, deed & courage.. my 1st day to hold a flute in my hand.. I am 25 years, willing to learn coz I am passionate, I know... hope to flow in this musical journey beautifully.. keep up & thanks!! :) :)

Rasika is really gifted by God an engineer flute player and a very meldous voice in singing
no she practised. A god's gift would have been discovered by her. Her learning abilities could be called a gift, not her flute skills.
