Nilaus, I swear you are a mastermind when it comes to 100% efficiency building or fantastic hub designs . Your designs are so good 👍
@nilaus I tested it out, noticed that the last magnet smelter is backwards with the inserter...err sorter. Other than this, works like a charm!!
I feel Factorio played a part. :P
i found a tech 1,2,3 hub with IPS on the DSPblueprint site which works great but it doesn't handle raw to parts. so you have to build parts then ship them in.
I deleted my malls (i had several small ones) and was too lazy to design it myself. Picked a random one (which was used quite a lot). Placed it down. Was very excited. It uses sushi belts. Meh. Came here to get inspiration. Love it. Thank you.
When placing multiple levels of belts over each other, you can hold SHIFT to ignore snapping - it makes it much easier to place them.
I know you made this 2 months ago but I just have to say that this comment is a god send, I can’t believe I didn’t think to try this.
I've been using that a lot since seeing this post. Thanks!
@@dirpyturtle69 I keep forgetting about this! I know you made this post 10 months ago, but I just have to say that this comment is a god send.
NO WAY I SPENT LIKE 30 HOURS AND DIDN'T KNEW
Love the new design. Definitely going to use it in my next play through.
Had a look through the blueprints and found a couple of issues with sorters in some of the blueprints.
#01 - Last Magnet Smelter isn't feeding into the Magnetic Coil Assembler above it. The Assembler is pulling off the Iron belt instead.
#09 - Traffic Monitor missing sorter for gears
#11 - Big Box missing sorters for stone/steel
Nilaus, amazing design and great videos as always. I've learned a lot from your Dyson Sphere Program videos.
A little tip: If you hold shift while building belts they won't snap to existing buildings. This makes it so much easier to build elevated belts on top of other belts.
I love your blueprints Nilaus, and appreciate how well they connect with each other. I propose an easy comment you can add: Use a coordinate system, for example the top left could be A1 so that we can easily tell how they fit together
Yessssssssss, I was waiting for this you beautiful man lol. I was trying to manipulate the original design but...I somehow get the feeling you will do a much better job than I did haha, very excited!
At 11:21: Just press shift or whatever key it is to make the belt unsnapp so you can build over a different belt.
came to the comments to remind people of this. holding shit stops it trying to connect to the level below if trying to do a path over another.
When i first heard of the logistics bots update, i was basically "meh". But i built them on a whim, and now i love them little fidget spinners. I tend to build all over the place, so just hitting the planet and a cloud of little robots come out and fill up all my building materials is super nice. And now i don't have to remember were i put everything, and spend 10 minutes flying around the planet trying to remember where built stuff.
I appreciate these kinds of tutorials and blueprints, because I find the early game is almost always the trickiest for me to get through, whether it's this or factorio or whatever. I really like making mid-game decisions and coming up with my own solutions during that phase, but I find the early game really too open-ended and the decisions feel a little more throttling. This helps me get into gear so I can just enjoy my play time.
I feel the opposite, all the videos about this game are people copy pasting blueprints for 30 min. What the fuck is the point of playing if you're gonna copy paste blueprints from someone else? Or even your own. If it was like Satisfactory where building is very daunting, as it's in first person, I'd understand.
I dont know why, but every time there's a new update such as this, I tend to put another 100h+ starting a new game. Love this game.
Yeah, I'd love to know why I do that as well. Change an existing mature DSP game with 100+ hours? No, start from scratch again! Makes perfect sense! lol
Thank you! I was so hoping for an updated jump start DSP base!
I'd love to know if you had an inspiration of some kind for using the stacked splitter for the Iron and Steel swapping. Fantastic idea. I think I might have been able to come up with that eventually, but it probably would have taken a very long time.
It's basically an old yet uncommon Factorio trick. But Nilaus also used it to cross two belts on one level a lot in his builds
Super cool stuff !
I wanted to play but didn't want to spend 10 hours doing the very basics, thanks for sharing the blueprints
Fun to see that hosted on Confluence btw
I finished my first playthrough a few weeks ago and now I want to start another one because those logistics drones look like a super useful new toy to play with
I'm in the middle of my first, and spaghetti doesn't quite do my home base justice. Have a lot to learn, I'm looking forward to finishing this playthrough and then starting my next one using the lessons I learned (and some tips from masters at this game too)
When ever I use this design you made, I put in the prolifiratiors for extra products. Helps a lot early game.
OMFG! You are a GOD among men @Nilaus!! Thank you for all you do!
Hey, thanks for Blueprints and info! I’m completely addictive to this game and it’s nice to see some people still making video’s!
Nice starting build, good to see the fidget spinners being useful
Pretty good tutorial! Thanks for the work.
you can use Shift to be able to build belts above other belts, will maintain the same height and wont link the belts that arent same height
Thanks for this guide, I'm trying to build some of theses hubs. The most useful thing I seen is that you can set picture for the conveyor belts, did not now that before
waiting on the combat update to start a new play through, and man is this design awesome!
Just started playing again and was watching the achievement series, of course this releases AFTER I finish the hub, still good for future playthroughs
thank you for these amazing bp's, as a guy who started over after first game this was so helpful! first game was so cluttered lol, everything was too small scale and hard to improve after i messed all over the place :P
If you press shift while placing the elevated belt, it will not automatically snap to the belt below it.
Balls deep into planet spaghetti heavily inspired by you and now this, might as well start over :D
Nilaus = dyson sphere OG!
Tweaking this for my own blueprint book!
Finished my super mall right before the patch and now i have to redo to insert all that new stuff :S at least i'm getting good ideas about how to with you! Thanks Nilaus :)
There is an inserter hooked up incorrectly on the electromagnetic motor building (next to the green chip storage). The inserter is connected to the iron ore belt, but should be connected to the magnet smelter.
just pulled the Blueprint down and found the same thing. real easy fix if you know it's there.
Wow, I love your designs. I have not played since the upgraded miner plus fidget spinner patch and have attempted, terribly to get them into my build, so I started yet another game, heh.
That’s right. With the new spinners and hat short range logistics building they just added it changes things. Well time to go back and adjust the builds again.
I just started this game and this video is making my gameplays easier and i can understand this , but i have are you requesting Electromagnetic Turbines for the Logistic Bot when it needs the Engines? or am I missing something?
This is so great and informitive. The only downside that is tripping me up is how to pull the built machines into their next upgrades, such as automating Mk1 belts into Mk2.
Learned two things from this video: 1. shift unsnaps belt placement (thanks RUclips comments!) and 2. you can swap double-decker belts using a vertical splitter. I started a new playthrough and designed a similar bus but didn't handle the swapping of belts as gracefully. Vertical splitters will make it a lot nicer.
One thing that wasn't covered was belt upgrades. You swapped to Mk2 belts but don't have them being built in your hub.
please show how you did red science. it looked like you made red science before you made any steel. thanks
Small suggestion: Could you please split the #11 blueprint into two? Blue science max bp size is 300, #11 is 536.
Being able to expand the hub to build oil extractors/refineries and tanks without requiring red science would be very nice.
Besides that, amazing work Nilaus!
Yes please! I'm not only having the same challenge, but I'm really struggling with aligning the buildings, chests etc with the video since a bit of time has past, and clearly updates have happened to the live BP. Thanks for your comment, Carlos! @Nilaus
Well the good news is Nilaus made a red cube "hack" video on how to completely automate red cubes using x-ray cracking, so it's not too big of a pain to unlock the red cube mass construction.
Logistics drone recipe appears to have changed since this BP was made, it requires Engines which aren't on the system. In the video they require Electromagnetic Turbines. Think this BP needs a bit of an update.
These blueprints are amazing dude ❤
Truly ingeniously! Nilaus is the best!
love the new design Nilaus
Top notch!.
New start commencing :)
Nice setup, compact and relatively simple but he missed a huge part. The science. What did his science setup look like? To get even half of where he got you need blue science. The last half you need at least red, if not even yellow.
This is a great starting build, I tend to do something similar but less compact. imo it is a bit easier to make it wider with more lines even if it is not as efficient. I also usually skip some buildings to make it quicker to rush pls
Ugh, adding glass into the early HUB is great. I was trying to wait for the Dark Fog update but I might have to start a new playthrough sooner than that.
This is simply amazing. I wish this had come out before I built my hub in my most recent game. Mine looks like sloppy in comparsion(tho modeled after the first hub video).
Good work as always! ;)
But some suggestions.
Put the link to this video in the ingame blueprint desciption, Use this moths later most player forget how to put the steel part and belts togeter.
Some usefull cosmetics for me are itemicons(filters) on the sorters of the inputstoragesboxes in part #12.
Very nice build
I just bought this game and came across this video. I look at this level of organization and then look at my starting planet - LOL!
I feel like I should be in a special education class. Mine looks like machinery vomited everywhere.
Thanks Nilaus. Bought the game yesterday and this is the perfect video for a perfect start.
The last iron ring smelter has the sorters backwards. Just thought you'd like to know.
@nilaus FYI the most right arc smelter in #1 is not connected to the assembling machine FYI (it goes to the belt hehe)
Thanks for the blueprints :)
man if only my brain could handle more than a main bus
Nice job Nilaus, as always.
11:20 - You just need to hold down Shift to not snap to a building. :)
Where is the power supply coming from on that production line? -
Never mind I saw them on the video when you zoomed in at 7:38. Genius concept thank you.
Always love to see your builds, they are well placed, neat and creatively designed. I just started a new play through and well it’s easy to forget the starting base/hub and recipe.
Nice build, as always!
Just a detail that a didn't understand in the video was: From where are the drones taking the Photon Combiners, Electromagnetic Turbines and the Super-Magnetic Rings?
They are present in the video, but not present in the current blueprint.
Hello Nilaus! Great content in this video, thank you for making our lives in the Dyson Sphere way easier. I was wondering why you had sorters both ways between the assembler building and the storage building?
Good to see inclusion of glass in the updated hub
Welcome to comments. Love you bro!
I suck at efficiency but i love this game so much
The green motor setup would have been nice to show
always creative effective systems
Where did you make all the teir 2 belts and teir 3 sorters also how did you start making red sience without have the oil stuff on the belt?
What happened to the tier 2 belts and sorters add on?
Very solid design. But is there an extension for it ? I couldn't help but notice that this build wants, for example, many hundreds of mark 2 belts. But doesn't build them. So there's gotta be an off camera build for turbines and belt upgrades etc which wasn't shown. The previous early hub did have an extension for this which was nice to have. Is there a video I'm just not seeing ?
I know this is a bit of a year old, would be nice if you included the silicon build section before or with the steel forging section.
great video. i just wish you would show some close in shots of the other side. can be a little hard to see your belt layout.
I kinda wished you would have shown how you did the BLUE cubes for this build integrated into it
I'm trying to follow along, but I don't quite get the tech jump in blueprint 11, in that MKII belts are a dependency. Am I just handcrafting them initially? or is there a MK2 blueprint/inserter I'm missing somewhere along the line
A bit confused on the #12 logistics drone upgrade blueprint. looks like maybe you changed it since this video was made... the glass is not being used and the belting is different when connecting the blue print to the rest of the bus. Any insight into how I should progress with this particular blueprint would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for the great content and blue prints.
UPDATE: Disregard, problem was between the keyboard and the chair, I missed adding #11 Chemical blueprint. Thank you again for the great content, keep it up.
I love the built-in prioritization. Can't wait to get home next week so I can download the blueprints.
I wonder what Katherine is up to. Imma pop by her channel to see if she posted a video.
Nilaus, any chance you can do a blueprint for early game Silicon? Stone > Silicon Ore > High-Purity Silicon. Also, how are you bringing in Photon Combiners? There is nothing yet in the HUB that is building them. Are you just hand crafting them and dropping them in?
Use the force Luke.
Why skipping the chain production for belt MK2 sorter mk2 and all ?
good episode but I find the lack of concrete disturbing lol
the Electromagnetic Turbine was missing from this early hub blueprint? i cant find it or i miss any step
Would love to see whole playthroughs rather than video cuts between things
The way you have the box buffers on the end is a little dumb. Just run them straight in the back, and straight out the opposite side and they will work the same way to save space by removing the belts from between the boxes.
not sure if updates have changed things but i cant add any of the blueprints on to the previous without it editing the belts
One thing missing on the drive: the ILS upgrade for this hub.
hmm the tier 2 and tier 3 logistics are missing?
Click the font to build over the conveyor)
SHIFT sorry
Hi. Fantastic hub and tutorial. I always watch your vids and feel like getting back to the game. One question. I noticed the new logistics slots in your inventory which werent therr before. Do they need special research or i should see them right from the start?
where are the green turbines coming from?
I'm doing a game where I used your old early game hub but I integrated proliferators into most of it, but not the direct machine-to-machine feeds. I'd like to see a 100% proliferated early game hub.
What does that do to your power requirements? I feel like it would slow down the early game needing to build a lot more power infrastructure.
Not sure you would want it early game (too power hungry) but certainly as part of the mix hub extension when you add in logistics towers that could be good.
@@chad_levy I hardly noticed the power.
might have worked then but cant get conveyors to stack now
I would love to use your blueprints but not sure how to download them or put them in the game. :( Can you make a tutorial for that?
Shut this makes me want to start my world over Again
Please Use Chapters while using Books of Blueprints
Your content is always so amazing. I used a lot of your blueprints in factorio.
What a shame is that satisfactory doesn't have blueprints on the vanilla unmodded game
Were Silicon available at home planet in earlier versions?
Do you have an ordered list of what the assemblers in the final expansion are making? Several of them show up as unassigned for me as I presumably haven't researched the necessary technology yet. (Would be nice if they got assigned but marked "unavailable yet".)
I'm also unclear on what some of the supplier boxes are supposed to be supplying. As I suss this out, I found it useful to tag the boxes by putting a little "dot" of conveyor belt behind them and adding an icon to that.
if he puts the item on the sorter from the assembler to the box we'd know. otherwise, look at the image on the blueprint or hope it's mentioned in the prints description.
I had the same challenge - building the BP before that tech was completed. Here's the list, starting after Gears:
Miners Smelters Tesla Towers Sm. Storage Wind Turbines Splitters Thermal Power Plant Matrix Liquid Storage
Chemical Plants Lg. Storage Oil Extractor Oil Refinery Wireless Power Tower Proliferators
...and for the last one...
Microcrystalline Components Processors Solar Panels Geothermal Power Stations Pilers Fidget Spinners Hats
idk if i may have messed something up, but nothing is producing engines for the fidget spinners on my world?
hell ya needed this
but from where are the green and blue motors coming? do i have to automate them by myself?
Very cool dude!
Thanks
