    If I spent that much money on meat, I would definitely invest in a backup generator of some sort.

    If there is a power outage, don’t open the refrigerator or freezer and it will continue to be cold for at least 24 hours for freezer and 8 hours for refrigerator.

    In the mountains we just dig holes and save the meat down there...although 6 months out of the year it can just stay out in the snow as long as you keep it safe from the wolves😅

    How does that help the meat in the freezer that the question is referring to? I think they meant like- do you have a back up genny?

      So would you take all the meat out of the freezer and then can it? Do you have a back up generator that would help?

    Why not get a generator to power the freezer?

    Weve got three of our lambs in the freezer right now, the freezer isnt at our home, and we cant afford an generator, nor do I think we would be allowed to put one there. Game plan is definitely to bring it home, stuff as much in our tiny fridge freezer as we can, and then the rest would be dog food 🤷‍♀️
    Not ideal, but not everybody can do the whole generator thing, so sharing other ideas for more options is great!!

    Don’t open the door, the power will be back on in a while. If not, that’s what generators are for.

    Doesn’t meat cause cancer according

    • @earthzeroapothecary
      @earthzeroapothecary 18 дней назад

      You're more likely to get cancer from FDA-approved foods than from the stuff they tell you to avoid. Also, the meat needs to be pasture-raised and not in barns with hundreds of other animals. The FDA is a joke.
