It truly is a joy and one huge family. I'm not going to specify my group, but I honestly don't know where i'd be without this amazing organisation. I volunteer and do riding lessons weekly and I just absolutely LOVE it. Thank you RDA, for everything you do for those who are members of the disabled community. The horses are so well taken care of!
What a brilliant organisation that I am lucky to working for the RDA. Riding for the Disabled Association have definitely changed my life for many years a a rider and volunteer locally, regionally and nationally. I love this video so much so thank you for helping and celebrate our fifty years.
I help exercise the RDA horses and ponies when they are not being used with disabled children. I feel great playing a part in this and changing peoples lives! I also make sure the horses are looked after well!!!
As a 64 year man with a fractured hip with osteoarthritis I’ve been wondering about riding as a Potential exercise benefit. However, the emphases on children is dampening my interest?
Your age doesn't matter - the RDA will be able to help you regardless of whether you're an adult or a child. There are some centres that can only take children, but that's only because they only have ponies rather than horses and those are not the majority. It's always worth a shot asking your nearest RDA stables about how they can help you specifically. And you mentioned that you have a fractured hip? Some RDA centres have incorporated carriage driving lessons so if horse riding isn't good on your hips, then carriage driving might be the way to go if you're interested in being around horses.
Still a lot to do in Germany .I can not find anybody to help me as a disabled Rider in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. So keep up is so gread to be around Horses.
This is one of my many dreams dreams bc i want everyone to be able to ride and every should be able to ride sometimes i feel like my dreams aren't gonna come true but other times when i see these i remember i can make my dreams come true nothings imposible so this is my biggest dream other then the one i have for owning a resuce farm and going to the grand prix and olimpics
I feel for the horses! Every day they have to endure so many different people on their backs, long hours of work, hardly any breaks in between! Why doesn't anyone think about the horses how they feel? And don't say they love it, because they don't, they rather be free grasing on the fields!!!
Do you really know horses I understand where your coming from horses need to be horses and have a chill life but them horses enjoy work if they dont do work they will become very unhealthy and overweight humans have to exercise and not just eat all day which is what you said but horses do work to keep them healthy and exercise their minds as well as their body they sleep and eat and go out in field and have a calendar of when they ride they wont work everyday but they enjoy work I go riding alot and all horses where I go are amazing and love work I am not disabled but I have been to places where they do the RDA services
Every horse needs exercise. I volunteer for the RDA and I know for a fact that these equines can only do 3 half hour lessons a day. They go out whenever they can and have lovely spacious stalls with salt licks, haynets etc. Please actually look at the amazing facilities before you go and spread false info :)
