I just bought mine. Second We after my Drop Dogtooth. I haven't opened the Dogtooth, but the detent is perfect on it and the fit and finish are nicer. Since they are equally priced, I can't help but be disappointed in the CTF since it costs the same.
I, too, found the detent a bit strong and also don't like having pocket clips on my knives. The same screw that was tight on yours was so tight on mine that even with heat, the loctite wouldn’t give. Since I wasn’t using the clip anyway, I drilled mine out. All screws are so shallow, I see why they used so much loctite. Still, the quality of manufacturing seems far lower than the quality of the materials.
Still, I dig the knife and got it for $50 off, so for what I paid, I’m so dissatisfied as to return it. Wished the CF scales were still in stock.

Yondering agree. The small screws are a turn off and it’s definitely not as solid as WE others offerings

Just curious, with bending the lock bar a little, did that affect the actual locking integrity at all?
Thanks for your detailed tear down and re-build. Nice looking knife.

Rashoop as long as the geometry on the lock is good it should not. You also want to make sure the resting measurement is more then the lock up measurement. (4mm when resting and let’s say 3mm when locked up) and thanks
