Coach knows his choreo .. it is called tutting but Mrs Coach was right also, it did have some voguing in it. This is some of the hardest but the best choreo ever, in any genre. SEULGI is considered one of the best female dancers in kpop along with LISA of BLACKPINK and MOMO of TWICE.

Irene and Seulgi took Tutting classes for 4 months and then it took an additional month to memorize the choreography. I heard if they weren't doing things with the group that they were practicing this choreo in their free time. They're just as in sync while performing live! These girls worked HARD on this and I will forever give them their flowers. The song is also so good! In dancing, most dances have a "breathing" point where they will dance on the 4th beat. But in this specific choreo, their arm movements are on every 2nd beat so twice as fast and thats for the entire song.
Suelgi’s talent in dance is well known, however a lot of people sleep on Irene’s dancing ability- she is the lead dancer of Red Velvet to Suelgi’s main dancer position and together they are the dance line of Red Velvet. By the time this was made Irene and Suelgi had been dancing together for at least a decade- they were a dance team together for SM Rookies even before Red Velvet was formed. Essentially the Red Velvet team was built around their dance synergy. They just have a natural understanding of how to move together born from years and years of dedicated practice.
COACH! Your level of retention is great. I love that you learn the names of the artists and that you’re able to point them out when they’re on screen, but the “tutting” comment really impressed me. Love your videos.
They recently released a video on the Red Velvet channel of Irene and Seulgi practicing this and Monster for their New Year's Eve performance in the Philippines along with behind the scenes of the show where they and Wendy performed
This is both tutting and voguing. Tutting is a lot harder than voguing for a lot of professional because the angles has to be symmetrical aline with each other and the most precise angel. I heard it took months for them two to get at a decent level
They performed and recorded the tutting and voguing moves in slow motion then played it back for the music video at twice the speed in order to get that perfect normal "in sync effect".
As Dancers go in K-Pop, some who have problems learning new choreo of average skill requirements might take a week to get 'normal', 'average' choreo down-pat so they can be performance-worthy on stage. Some of the more fabulous dancers (such as BLACKPINK Lisa, TWICE Momo and Red Velvet Seulgi) can learn average-for-k-pop choreos in a couple of days at most (and sometimes in just a few minutes; Lisa really is a Dancing Machine and so is Momo. They have both been known to pick up choreo after seeing it just once or twice and can reproduce it flawlessly on-the-spot! BORN TO DANCE is a real thing). THIS SPECIFIC choreo for 'Naughty' has such a HIGH difficulty level that it took I&S multiple MONTHS to learn it (and that is really saying something because Irene is a great dancer and Seulgi had almost as difficult a time learning it as Irene had). Their back-up dancers only had to learn the back half of it and they also took a while to get it. Even if it did not win any awards (a complete crying shame), every dancer who has tried to learn it agrees that this is THE most technically difficult choreo in K-Pop.
Red Velvet is a wonderful group, with incredible vocals, crazy but very well-crafted concepts. I really liked your reactions to red velvet. I hope you continue getting to know them, there is a lot to discover. It would be good for you to look at their killing voice, there are many thanks to which you should start listening to get to know them. My recommendation of them are “be natural” “oh boy” “wildside” “kingdome come”. I will subscribe and wait for more reactions, lots of encouragement and luck. THANK YOU

i am not a red velvet stan,.. i like some on their songs but that about it. but this song deserver choreo of the year. i dont remember which one won, i only remember it was something that should have never won that category even without the competition

Also, voguing and tutting have similarities, but they’re distinctive styles of dance with roots on different sides of the country. They’re mostly tutting in this video.
