What a tune - brings back so many amazing memories - at the end of the night in Shaft before we'd go on to a party - Dublin dance scene in the 90s was the best - so glad to have been part of it - never get that back again - those were the days xxx
Some memories. 4am. Tommy Stewart fist pumping to it up in the sky, all of us loved up and facing him like he was messiah, all of us beaming and smiling, loving everyone around us. Then piling into cars and heading to parties in Clonee or Lucan or Castleknock, wherever it was happening. Saturday nights at the System were the pinnacle of my youth.
Sitn in bed here age 37, missing my dancing days from the 90's, this been one of the classic tunes. I miss the gud aul days when life was for living, this takes the depression outa the recession a little !!
Big in Ireland, played in the chocolate box/pod religiously. No idea why not be in the UK. Quality tune, still sends shivers as a reminder of the end of the night at Pod. Happy days.
@@2wheelsbest I was a temple of sound patron. I had went to my last gig regarding dance music in 1996. My first club night was sides in early 1991. 5 years of pure madness
this track takes me back to the great times i had working the system doing the lasers and intelligent lighting, and to a fantastic crowd who made it a great club, surley well missed .
Go on the Dubs !!!!! that party boat was mental and as for the Shaft no other place like it ever, spent half my life there, HAPPY DAYS .................
The system replaced mcgonagles and previously the crystal ballroom, my mother went there :) * This tune was best in the shaft or the kitchen, classic track years ahead of its time, still timeless, Rihanna should do a version :)
All those good times, gone and all the savage clubs gone all there is now is shite, oh well all i can say is Long live the SHAFT ! and all who sailed there, MAD OUTA IT !!!!!!
Cubeman77 Really love this tune as well... The Belfast scene was amazing. Those night clubs and illegal all night raves, where both Protestants and Catholics mixed together for the love of music and dancing. There were some violent acts of terrorism at that time, and it was great to get away from it all at the weekends. Instead of hatred and violence, there was love and enjoyment... Cause after all - "Love is energy". Lovely, smooth, heartfelt wee tune.
All going on about the system, shite club, replaced a super club, mcgonagles, system was a blow in, didn't last long, kitchen was the best club for this tune, always played at the end of the night.
It’s amazing Joe Robert’s didn’t explode here in the U.S. what a talent… us Americans missed the boat!
