    Everyone’s always really quick to tell you “just wait…” for all the negatives but rarely they say the positives so just wait until you hold your baby for the first time, or the first time she smiles, or the first time she calls you mummy! Hope you all have a wonderful festive period💗

      @@jamiegenevieve I’d like to add by saying when they say I love you the first time too 🥹
      My husband watches our granddaughter while mom and dad are working (he’s retired military and I work on the military base). She’s 3 now but I’ve been looking forward to I love you from day one.
      When she was 2, I was leaving for work and she had just got to our house. We said our goodbyes and hugs then suddenly she says in a clear and loud angelic voice “WAIT! Love you have a day grandma!” I almost died!!! 😭 My heart. She didn’t say have a GOOD day but it made me even more emotional lol It was the first time she said it crystal clear and said grandma too. It makes me tear up now LOL I’m a nerd but damn it’s so precious. My heart skips a beat every time she has said it since. ❤

    Someone said to me when I was pregnant that the sleep getting worse throughout you pregnancy, was your baby slowly getting you ready for when they arrive and you are up with them throughout the night. I thought this was a much nicer way of saying it rather than “it’s only going to get worse “ Love your videos and sharing with us your pregnancy journey 💕

      Yes! Also keep an eye on their body clock as the times they’re moving at night could coincide with their feeds in the night when they’re earth side 🥰🥰

    • @lquinn16
      @lquinn16 Год назад

      I used to absolutely need my sleep or i was a crabby mess. Sleeping in late and going to bed late and just living for myself. The whole sleep training thing was absolutely true for me and slowly got me used to waking up throughout the night and early in the morning. Somehow though, now that my baby is earthside, I really don’t mind waking up with him through the night to feed. Especially when he gives me a sweet little milk drunk smile. It’s become my happy time, small little moments just me and my baby. People say a lot of scary stuff to you when you’re pregnant about what to expect. In my experience it hasn’t been bad at all. I absolutely love being a mom and it gave my life its purpose. I struggled with depression and became medicated for it during my pregnancy and I’ve never been happier in life. My only advice is to savor every little moment of motherhood - the good and the bad, bc to that little babe you are their whole heart and world and it’s the most amazing thing I’ve ever experienced in life.

    Gosh, I dont like those people. I’m not a parent, but a dog parent and the most owners the same! Everyone knows everything better and what is good for your dog or not.
    It is your pregnancy. Why do people feel the need to „share“ their advises without you asking for it? Or better their so called horror stories.
    I think you look amazing, you’re glowing from inside out! I know you will always do what’s best for you and the wee girl.

    So many people did the same thing when she was ill in her last year of life. I was so stunned why everyone seemed to love telling her how much she was going to suffer. It was truly shocking and I felt SO PROFOUNDLY heart broken for her. Let’s ALL lift one another up and remind each other of the things we can look forward to and let’s help each other focus on the freedoms we have to choose the things that bring joy and hope into our lives. Hope and joy are essential to peace.

    I have a one year old girl, and I have say it’s peak human experience watching your baby grow. For some moms it can be hard, and there’s nothing wrong with asking for help if you feel like you’re mentally struggling after those first few weeks. The sooner you get help, the sooner you’ll feel better! With that said, get ready for the most amazing love of yours and Jack’s life ❤ your capacity to love both your new baby and each other grows to a new level you can’t imagine until you’re there. Congrats! Also, postpartum is it’s own battle but holy crap I was waaaaaay more comfortable postpartum than pregnant! Another thing to look forward to😅

    Aw the beauty of motherhood. Soo many positives, they outweigh the negatives. The first time they put the baby on your chest and she cries, the way she’ll look at you and put her hand on your face during a feeding or snuggle. The first time she smiles….when she calls you mommy, when she wants only you and your kiss on her boo-boo will do. When she runs to you after you’ve been out and you come home. Her first laugh. I could go on and on. And coming from a mother and grandmother, the unsolicited advice never stops, even after they’re grown and off married with their own babes. Take it all with a grain of salt. ❤❤ p.s I can’t wait to see the two of you cruising the mini together…

  • @samanthadabbles
    @samanthadabbles Год назад

    I’ve dealt with the “just wait it gets worse” comments with all three pregnancies now. I’ve started with responding to people by saying man I’m so sorry that you had that experience and it was so bad for YOU. But for me I’m loving every minute of it and I know I was always meant to be a mom!
    I find that by “smacking” them in the face with some positive vibes they either stop or I walk away smiling ☺️ either way! It relieves the stress!
    Also you’ll be surprised how great of a car Tor mini is going to be as a mom car. It’s something that will give you joy or the hard days, and baby will stay in an infant car seat for a while, it’s not so bad! Especially for you who stays pretty sit, you’ll bounce back pretty easy after labor im sure!

    Hi Jamie! Yes. Yes I remember when I was pregnant 22 years ago, a lot of people like to be doomsayers. Or maybe they’re being funny or saying it out of love, but I got so much of that. “good luck, get sleep now! Oh, don’t eat that, ooh don’t make the bath hot”… never mind the panic I was put into over being on anxiety meds so I promptly went off of them and thankfully I was emotionally healthy enough to do so but I look back and I wonder if it couldn’t have been worked out not so abruptly? Anyway, in my 50s with an adult son, I can tell you that it’s also wonderful, beautiful, miraculous. I recently transferred some footage from my sons first couple of Christmases and I am watching them over and over, with the biggest smile on my face. You and Jack are going to be wonderful! 🌲🤎🤎🤎

After giving birth hormones change and all those hair that meant to shed normally, start shedding and it looks scary. Sending love!

I had all that but still wear thongs, do my nails every three weeks, wear makeup, nice clothes etc. Because that is just me, pre & post my little miracle. My daughter is 5 months and I have had my natural long nails the entire time, makes no difference if you’re used to having long nails. I loved tuna throughout pregnancy, I would have 2 tins a week and loved every minute of it! You can go back to wearing your thongs when you recover and feel comfortable to. Don’t loose yourself after pregnancy because other people have and regret letting it happen and think that nobody can stay their same wonderful pre baby self. Keep positive and true to yourself and you won’t loose any of yourself once baby’s here! X

    Honestly, the part I hated most about pregnancy was all the negative comments from people who had already experienced being a parent. "Don't get used to that", "Just wait till blah blah blah", "You can't do blah blah blah". Like being pregnant is hard enough. The only advice I wish I'd had was sleep as much as you can and enjoy all the pleasures that happen every day so you're not sitting there worrying about eating a tuna sandwich or whether or not you can have long nails or not. I realised people are just bitter about being parents. That has to be it or I don't understand why else they would do it.

    Currently have a one year old and I have had super long acrylics since he was born! Just because they couldn't cope doesn't mean you won't! Xx

    Motherhood is the most beautiful gift. Yes, it requires sacrifice, and selfless. But there is nothing wrong with the refining that motherhood brings. We are ment to evolve and grow. And nothing can be more rewarding then our sweet children.🥰🙏🏻

    Unfortunately people have their own opinions that they feel they have the right to air, yes so much changes when you have babies and a lot of the freedoms you once had will change completely but it’s all for the better, once you have your baby you’ll wonder how you ever lived without her! Kids change you, but I’m my personal opinion it’s for the better. The love you’ll experience, there’s nothing in this world like it 🥰 I have two, and they’re without a doubt the best thing that have ever happened to me. You do you, focus on you, your baby and your family, don’t let unnecessary comments upset you ♥️

    Jamie, not sure if you’re going to read this but this is coming from a place of love myself. I had my baby girl this year, first baby. I’m just going to share with you some of my experiences, even if you take away a little bit, that’s awesome.
    • Learn about colic, not that it’ll happen to your baby but it’s actually very common and if you can get on top of it immediately it’s best for both you and baby. I recommend colic bottles, colic specific formula, and you can also get colic drops depending on severity/need.
    • I didn’t know about post partum hair loss prior to pregancy, but I’m still dealing with the grow back 11 months later. From what I hear it’s pretty unavoidable even with preventive supplements. I now have bangs lmao.
    • When people say “you’re going to get no sleep after giving birth,” sure, they’re somewhat right. But us women produce oxytocin like crazy post partum which does a lot like helping you produce breastmilk, but it also includes making being awake easy and waking up easy. I personally struggle without lots of sleep, but those few immediate weeks/months postpartum it was a breeze to wake up and stay up for my little girl. Your body has done/will be doing incredible things, and you have this little bundle of absolute love to take care of. You won’t get much sleep, but you’ll also be perfectly fine. I’m sure Jack will take turns with you anyway so you can get some well earned sleep.
    • I’m pretty sure it’s not practiced in America because I’ve seen a lot of Americans on RUclips get weirded out by it, but in Australia and I’m pretty sure over where you are Jamie they practice swaddling. It works wonders, don’t be afraid of it. I’ve seen people get nervous about it hurting them, but it doesn’t and they love it. Mother’s womb is a cosy area, and swaddling mimics the womb and helps calm, especially newborn babies. It keeps them asleep for longer as well because they also have the startle reflex - where they can wake themselves up just by moving their arms.
    • Do whatever works for you and your family. There is a lot of pressure by people to “do this, don’t do that, don’t spoon feed, breast is best, don’t swaddle, don’t blah.” If it works for you and your baby, do it. Baby lead weaning doesn’t work for me for example, my baby has choked now three times me trying different methods with her. I’m happy spoon feeding her, and we also get to bond over it. I’m not going to persist for the sake of societal pressure, and neither should you but in regards to anything when it comes to your baby.
    • Post partum is a whole other ride. I weirdly gained 20KG’s after giving birth and I have no idea how, but your body is healing, it’s working itself out again, and it’s changed permanently in some aspects. I have found that I’m learning my body all over again. Be patient with it, your body is incredible.
    • Take as many photos and videos as possible. It’s so damn cliche but they do grow so fast, especially within that first year though. It goes from pushing themselves up, finding their fists, finding their feet, rolling over, raspberries, sitting up, and then they’re standing. Document, capture, and cherish every moment.
    Again, not sure if you’ll read. This isn’t that much advice but it’s also a lot at the same time. I wish you nothing but the best sweet pea, and I’m so happy you get to start your wee family. I hope I helped.

    This is so crazy! So I’m 10 weeks 2 days, and all your cravings are exactly the same as mine! I’m loving crunchy green apples, I’ve craved prawn cocktail and finally had it today (the best) and I thick breaded tuna sandwich.. I’m now getting the vibes I’m having a girl! Plus lower back pain and not really feeling too badly sick currently just eyes bigger than my belly 😂❤
