As an artist, I thank you for being the ONLY reviewer of this palette to actually share the fascinating art history behind the color names! I've seen this palette reviewed a million and 2 times...but YOU are the FIRST RUclipsr to actually make me want to BUY it! heh...so thanks for that! 😘✌💜💝💜💝
I love how excited and joyous you were while talking about the relation between the palette and Renaissance art. It is clear to see your passion for painting, and it's beautiful really 🙂👌💕
I love how you talk about the possible renaissance connections with the different pigments and artists. It was really cool! I'd love to see more art talk on your channel, idk. You know your stuff & make your own art as well. Loved to hear more! 😁 Love the in depth review, as well. I really enjoyed watching, as always, haha. 😘
I really enjoyed when you spoke about art history! How interesting to hear someone so knowledgable when it comes to Renaissance period art. Also, sad that you enjoyed this palette so much. I was on the fence, hoping that just maybe despite the fact the colors are gorgeous and perfect and would go wonderfully with my tone, that there was some flaw with them. Powdery shadows....fall out...patchiness (anything)....but no, nothing. Damnit now I HAVE to buy it :(
Seriously don't understand why these gurus don't use good ol google at least to pronounce things, it couldn't be easier and they look 100x more professional and not live up to that dumb pretty girl trope. So annoying.
Anastassia herself could not have presented it better. She literally should be thanking you and adding you to that PR list immediately. The thought, time, and hard work you put into each video really shows. Especially in this one. So much love. 💘
I know it's a year later, and I don't care!!! I still want to say how INCREDIBLY thorough you are!! I was thinking of getting this, and you were the first person I thought of to check their review, and I'm so glad I did. MAN YOU PUT A LOT OF WORK INTO THESE!!!! Thanks so much for all your incredibly detailed work!!!
I really appreciate that you're an artist reviewing this pallet! The understanding of the pallets premise makes it so much more interesting to watch you talk about it!
oh also, i think a fun challenge would be to make makeup looks inspired by your favorite artists or paintings! especially since you have a formal training in the arts, i think it would be really cool to see what you come up with
Vermeer is known for his use of light in paintings! Vermeer used a camera obscura for many paintings, using mirrors and various lenses to show the way light blurred the edges of what it hit the hardest, and of course also made shadows (like on clothes) to appear more define and darker which made the light pop. Plus the glaze he used made the painting have a sheen which, again, made the light seem so realistic and he portrayed it very, very realistically. Might be why they chose a light color. Though I would have made an ultramarine blue, since he used it in all his paintings as a base-- and many times as a top layer on clothing too. I was shocked they used him since he's a Baroque artist! While he worked in the Dutch Golden Age too, and it happened around the end of the 'Renaissance' period, I can see why they did add him. Maybe that explains a little! C:
I really loved all the background on the names and the pics of Renaissance paintings, makes me appreciate the effort that went into making this palette.
I think the Vermeer color refers more to his mastery of light in his paintings...he is particularly well known for capturing light almost as it truly appears in real life which is extremely difficult to do with paint. Focus on light is characteristic of many Dutch Renaissance/Dutch Golden Age painters.
this review is by far your best(trust me I've watched all of them) hahah. it was so informative and you went over a lot of important details that nobody else really mentions. I also loved that you added those three look options at the end. ❤❤❤😘
I have been back and forth on whether I should get this palette but every time I saw a RUclipsr talk about it, it never felt genuine enough. But now I am sold! Your reviews are the ones I truly trust. Thanks Cassie!
I love that you didn't pile on thick eyeliner! I always look crazy when I try, and think a soft line using a dark shadow works better for me. Such pretty looks, and I LOVE this palette.
Great job on the video!! Honesty out of all the tutorials using this palette i would have to say i enjoyed yours the most. They eye-shadow is a lot more practical then the other looks I'm finding using this palette. i'm excited to try these out. Thanks!
You've been looking so glowy and happy and just angelic lately, not that you weren't before!! It just shows through in your videos and I really appreciate that as a viewer because it's like you're talking to us/me as a friend! Love it and love you xx
Best review I have seen on this palette, love the explanations and correlations between the eyeshadow colors and names and there possible inspirations. Art imitating art! Reminds me of Gaga's artpop album.
i love love love that you actually referenced some classic art pieces! i know your background is in art, i thought it was a really nice personal touch! and you're so right, the colours are very similar
Egg yolk was used in the tempera painting technique. That's what made it dry down quickly. My guess is that's why this color in the palette is like a cream or eggshell
Cassie, I KNEW you'd love this palette - the colours are right up your alley. I love the names too, brings back memories of my Art History teacher telling me I need more burnt ochre in my painting. I like look #3 on you the most, but they're all great, and that lipstick you're wearing is really perfect for all 3.
I so love that you are great at makeup and are also incredibly intelligent!! It sets such a good example for your young subscribers that you can indulge in makeup and beauty without being Kardashianesque!
l've been using it as much as l can, noticed the fall out (alot) but it all blends so beautifully!! Also my first Anastasia eyeshadow ever. Side note, The Moonchild highlighter is beyond words 😍😍😍😍
I. Love. This. Palette. Genuinely my favorite eyeshadow palette ever. It lasts forever and a day. The pigment doesn't freaking move its literally on my eye forever. When I got to work for 5-7 hours both inside and outside it stays forever. If you're on the fence about getting it I 100% recommend!!
I LOVE that lip color on you, it's stunning. Also your unique commentary on the palette because of your art knowledge was so interesting and honestly my favorite part of the review.
Love the look Cassie! I I appreciate a lighter look from this pallet as it is very easy to get a dark sort of look from most of the colors in this pallet.
Yep, yeah, yes! I very, very rarely buy and use eye shadows (I use blush, contour and matte or satin highlighters instead), but had to have this. No hype necessary. I've wanted it from first glance. It truly is "all that." So beautiful.
well...you sold me on this palette. The art history nerd in me made me buy it! Also, thank you for the tutorials. I think most tutorials on this palette are done by professional makeup artists and are not very realistic. I love that your looks are something that I can actually see myself recreating.
I have watched so many tutorials on this palette and yours is BY FAR, the Best One Yet! I enjoyed the art information you shared that attributed to this one, I just Love Love Love the looks thank you for the A++ videos
Great review, swatches, and demos! I just really, really love how accessible and... I don't know... "Everyday Babetastic" the looks are that you create. I feel like I can recreate them myself without using a millionthousand things and spending half my morning at the mirror. Thank you! ❤
I've said it before and I'll say it again, I love watching your reviews. You're so genuine and honest. As a side note, FABULOUS choice in music as always.
thank you so much, cassie for reviewing this pallet. I was debating buying this pallet for a few weeks, and now I know I won't regret getting it. I trust your reviews, so it was important that I saw your review first.
I am literally OBSESSED with that pallet. It is literally everything I could ever want in an eyeshadow pallet for my green eyes!!! 💗❤️💜 love your videos girly xxoo
Thank you so much Cassie!!! I have senior pictures tomorrow and I'm going to use look #3 :) I also love your review and the art history background you give. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR MAKING RUclips VIDEOS! LOVE YOU ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I was reluctant to buy this because I typically don't like anastasia palettes and because the colors seemed like colors I wouldn't really use. I saw the good reviews and decided to swatch it in sephora. Since the quality was amazing I bought it. No regrets at all. I reach for it almost every time I do my makeup. The colors look gorgeous on my skin.
sigh, I've been trying to convince myself modern renaissance doesn't need to join my family but it keeps looking better and better 😅 thanks for the review girl
💘 Love the looks you created with this pallet!! 💄 I will be using the video to recreate them. I have been wearing makeup forever, but eye makeup has really changed in the last few years and sometimes I look at a pallet and feel totally lost as to even know where to start. This video is VERY helpful!! Thanks, Hun! 💋 ❤
Love the mini tutorials! I have been wanting this palette for a while and you definitely sold me on it! As soon as it's back in stock here I am buying it up! Thank you!
I love that you do the mini tutorials at the end of palette reviews. I'd love it if you could keep doing that. Also, you look so beautiful in this vid. I mean you always do, but your look here really stands out here 😊
Cassie, YOU ARE AMAZING!!! This Palette was SO UP YOUR ALLEY!!!! You are one of the ONLY RUclipsrs to pronounce ALL the names in this palette correctly. I can also guarantee that you are the ONLY one who knows all their meanings. I absolutely LOVED the correlation/your explanation of the palettes shadow names. This palette is VERY SIMILAR to the Violet Voss Holy-Grail palette. Only Anastasia Shadows are WAY BETTER QUALITY!!! Anastasia has THE BEST shadows on the market in my personal opinion. You are so right Cassie, the HYPE IS REAL on this palette!!! LOVE YOU, LOVE YOUR CHANNEL, LOVE THE VIDEO!!! #Subscriber4Life #TheCassMass ;)) P.S. Even her limited edition palettes said the shadows were only good for six months. I have had two of those for almost 2 years now & they are fine!!! P.S.#2 If people have the Morphe 35OM and the 350S palettes - the colors in those are very similar to this. HOWEVER, there's a couple colors in this Anastasia palette that you will NOT find in those palettes.
Ughhhh, this palette is gorgeous. The red shades and those yellow toned shades are so beautiful. Look #3 is my favorite - red eyeshadows look great on you, Cassie!
Love love love! I purchased this pallette a few weeks and have yet to open it. You've inspired me with your 3 different looks! Thank you for a wonderful video! You're our favorite!
Hands down, this is by far the most amazing review on an item I've ever watched!!! I loved how you spoke about historical things as well, all of the names and the color scheme etc. make sense now. Thank you for sharing such information!!! Loved watching this!! :* But I always love watching your reviews :*
I was on the fence on this one since I have so many palettes. I really liked this review because unlike other reviews you really went into the value and connected the art aspect to the colors and name of the palette. This information has tipped the scales for me and will be purchasing this one.
Omg your review is my favorite because you give us a natural glam and full on natural my type of makeup looks and I love art and drawing so seeing your review made me happy as you describe renaissance time period and colors. Your so pretty and talented and I love your channel so much.😍😍😍☺️☺️
I received my ABH Modern Renaissance palette for my birthday and still have not been able to use it! I need to ASAP. I love how you explained the names of the eyeshadows and their connection to the Renaissance. I didn't know and definitely appreciated that.
The last look you did reminded me of spices and i love it so much. I felt like you were creative with the looks with this palette just as you are with your make up geek eyeshadows!!
I love the idea behind this, a shadow palette inspired in art... I studied art too, so I love the theme and the colors... I don't have the money right now, but definitly I'll save for this!... thank god it's not limited edition!
This is the best review of the ABH MR palette on youtube!!!! It was soooo interesting hearing you opinion from an artistic point of view! :). Thank you Cassie 💕💕💕
I love this palette so much. It lasts forever, and i have super hooded eyelids where most of the shadows I wear mesh into one brown glob by the end of the day but this stays so good throughout the whole day. And I say this as one of the few people who don't like the glow kit highlighters.
As always, perfect amount of review, tutorial, and chit chat. I love your channel!! I've about used up my Naked 2 palette and have been wanting to venture out away from such neutral shades. I'm definitely leaning towards this ABH palette!
This is probably the most hyped palette I've seen since I went down the RUclips beauty rabbit hole. But your reviews are always the best! I really enjoyed the art connections you drew :) you were so cute when you nerded out! Fun watching you talk about your bigger passion beyond make up.
As an artist, I thank you for being the ONLY reviewer of this palette to actually share the fascinating art history behind the color names! I've seen this palette reviewed a million and 2 times...but YOU are the FIRST RUclipsr to actually make me want to BUY it! heh...so thanks for that! 😘✌💜💝💜💝

Love the in depth review, as well. I really enjoyed watching, as always, haha. 😘
Also, I really love the music you included towards the end! It's super catchy! Love the mini tutorials, too 😍😍😍
+Sarah Sayer love the music too, she always has some nice music going on.love her taste.
I love the music too, I was watching earlier and the kids were both dancing to it and watching cassie! so cute!
Damnit now I HAVE to buy it :(
Seriously, like no other youtubers appreciate the art side of the palette, or can even pronounce the names correctly.
I love that you included facts about the Renaissance art period!! Any art historians up in here?? 🙋🙋🙋🙋✨✨
I like how you don't have to wear false lashes to make the shadow look come together. nowadays mostly every eyeshadow tutorial includes them..
karla Gonzalez True i agree, I don't think the average person puts fake eyelashes on everyday. What a hassle!
I really appreciate that you're an artist reviewing this pallet! The understanding of the pallets premise makes it so much more interesting to watch you talk about it!

bravo ABH for a brilliant palette. Your application skills have greatly improved but your artistic vision/eye has always been there.
I really loved all the background on the names and the pics of Renaissance paintings, makes me appreciate the effort that went into making this palette.
I'm doing an art degree at the minute and I love all of the art talk! it's like my two favourite things rolled into one 😍

I'm an art history major and seeing you talk about the names has convinced me I NEED THIS IN MY LIFE (plus all those colors are up my ally!)
this review is by far your best(trust me I've watched all of them) hahah. it was so informative and you went over a lot of important details that nobody else really mentions. I also loved that you added those three look options at the end. ❤❤❤😘

The colors in this pallete looks amazing with so many eye colors. I have brown eyes and was so pleased at how nice the berry shades worked for me.
Seeing your passion behind the art and how the palette plays with the history of art was so cool.
Great job on the video!! Honesty out of all the tutorials using this palette i would have to say i enjoyed yours the most. They eye-shadow is a lot more practical then the other looks I'm finding using this palette. i'm excited to try these out. Thanks!

I love your tutorials Bc they're so everyday/daytime friendly compare to other tutorials I've seen with this palette
Best review I have seen on this palette, love the explanations and correlations between the eyeshadow colors and names and there possible inspirations. Art imitating art! Reminds me of Gaga's artpop album.
The last look makes your eyes pop so much! I love this palette!
Idk what it is but I find your voice and your general personality really relaxing and just nice... Like idk if I'm the only one but it's great
Agreed! I love watching her. It's soothing
i love love love that you actually referenced some classic art pieces! i know your background is in art, i thought it was a really nice personal touch! and you're so right, the colours are very similar

The girl with the pearl earring was also a recent final jeopardy clue AND I GOT IT AND NOT ALL THE CONTESTANTS DID and I was very proud.
oh really?? That's awesome! :D
Now that it's been 6 months, how are the eyeshadows doing in your opinion?
I so love that you are great at makeup and are also incredibly intelligent!! It sets such a good example for your young subscribers that you can indulge in makeup and beauty without being Kardashianesque!
I've been loving your hair semi straight :0 it frames your face nicely
Yes, I agree. She looks great with this do.
aw well thank you ^_^
I agree she is looking so pretty here lately
I agree as well! looks beautiful!
You are absolutely right
Galileo looks so comfy. Love your videos. You truly make my day. Thank you, Cassie and Galileo.
I love how you explained the palette with art! This is the first palette I actually feel crazy about!
l've been using it as much as l can, noticed the fall out (alot) but it all blends so beautifully!! Also my first Anastasia eyeshadow ever. Side note, The Moonchild highlighter is beyond words 😍😍😍😍
I love how you included Renaissance-era artwork and explained the names of the shades.
I. Love. This. Palette. Genuinely my favorite eyeshadow palette ever. It lasts forever and a day. The pigment doesn't freaking move its literally on my eye forever. When I got to work for 5-7 hours both inside and outside it stays forever. If you're on the fence about getting it I 100% recommend!!

Love the look Cassie! I I appreciate a lighter look from this pallet as it is very easy to get a dark sort of look from most of the colors in this pallet.
I just bought this palette and came back to watch your tutorials! Beautiful eye looks, Cassie! Thank you for taking the time to share them with us. :)
Yep, yeah, yes! I very, very rarely buy and use eye shadows (I use blush, contour and matte or satin highlighters instead), but had to have this. No hype necessary. I've wanted it from first glance. It truly is "all that." So beautiful.
I loved that you looked at this from an artist's perspective! My minor was in art history so I was so about this palette and the naming!
This is my holy grail palette now. It is the best for me. I love the colors and the formula is amazing.
so glad you love it too!!
Did it change after the 6 month supposed expiration date?
well...you sold me on this palette. The art history nerd in me made me buy it! Also, thank you for the tutorials. I think most tutorials on this palette are done by professional makeup artists and are not very realistic. I love that your looks are something that I can actually see myself recreating.
I'm totally seeing the Renaissance themes in the colors
I have watched so many tutorials on this palette and yours is BY FAR, the Best One Yet! I enjoyed the art information you shared that attributed to this one, I just Love Love Love the looks thank you for the A++ videos

oh gosh well thank you!! I hope you love the palette as much as I do if you end up getting it for yourself ^_^
+Thrift Thick (Cassie) thanks! Also it's a bit embarrassing that I have so many spelling mistakes in a comment that you replied to, whoops /:
Just got this palette and I'm obsessed with it!! Gorgeous, soft, and creamy shadows and my favorite gal on the Internet? Clicked as quick as I could!
lol aw well thank you and I'm so happy you're loving this palette too!!
Thank you for explaining the names behind the shadows!!! It has been so long since my Art History classes in college and it was a nice refresher!!

I can definitely keep doing the mini tutorials, I'm so happy you enjoy them!! And thank you so much
I've been eyeing this palette for months and I FINALLY caved and ordered it today! I can't wait to get it in the mail. Great review as always. 😊
I got this palette when it was first released and I absolutely love it. Absolutely numerous combinations I have made out of this one item.
SO appreciating your art history references!! 💙 This may be the review that sold me on this palette for good...
You're so cute when you're excited about makeup!! Loved the review and the beautiful looks you created! ❤️
I'm proud of being Italian just for the Renaissance period (and the cooking)
I didn't even want his palette at first but then I needed it and now I love it lol.
I was on the fence on this one since I have so many palettes. I really liked this review because unlike other reviews you really went into the value and connected the art aspect to the colors and name of the palette. This information has tipped the scales for me and will be purchasing this one.
That palette is gorgeous, thanks to your seal of approval I will most definitely buy it for my birthday. 😻
Omg your review is my favorite because you give us a natural glam and full on natural my type of makeup looks and I love art and drawing so seeing your review made me happy as you describe renaissance time period and colors. Your so pretty and talented and I love your channel so much.😍😍😍☺️☺️

Wow! You're color sense is so original and inspired...I can see the art background coming through in your choices...nice music too!
Cassie I absolutely LOVED the way you did the tutorials! Very informative video. You're getting better and better every video. Love ya!,
I received my ABH Modern Renaissance palette for my birthday and still have not been able to use it! I need to ASAP. I love how you explained the names of the eyeshadows and their connection to the Renaissance. I didn't know and definitely appreciated that.
I love all the music you used in this!
same (:
One of my favorite videos I have seen on your channel. I appreciate the hard work you put into this video!!
