I was at that birthday party too - what a day! I showed up at 4 AM with my sister. We were in the front rows coming from the SF side... and as we hit the apex, and saw this wall of people coming from the Marin side. We were lucky enough to head to the side and work our way back to land, and spent the next six hours getting back to our car at the old Playland. What a day!!

Friends and I were almost on the bridge. Someone yelled Turn around! The bridge is shakingt. Being good women,we turned around.
Imagine if the bridge had collapsed and you folks were right there to see it.
