I love Seungmin in this one. Great vocals. For a laugh watch Stray Kids ratimg their songs, on Buzzfeed I think. They pit Han’s Secret, Secret against Changbin’s Sorry, I love you. 😂

This song is so beautiful and sad.
Lee Know's falsetto was so beautiful that I rewatched that part several times.Everyone in SKZ is such a great video.

I can't wait to see your reaction to "silent cry" (that is a respond to this song) and "sorry, I love you" (changbin wrote it and it has a performance/mv).

I definitely also look forward to seeing reactions to these, as I _love_ both! (Bonus if they watch the live performance of Silent Cry and its...interesting choreo. 😆) But fwiw, just so the reactors don't get confused by trying to find a video, "Sorry, I Love You" doesn't have a First Take, just an MV shot in a similar stripped-down fashion to how "Secret Secret" is. (The only First Takes we have so far are Slump, OH, and Scars.)

Listen to Silent Cry. It's kind of the members' answer to Han's "cry for help" (secret secret). Also, have you seen Seungmin and Han on Lee Mujin Service? It's a must!

I think it was Silent cry that was the members answer to this song

I know it's not confirmed and it's just our theory, but I firmly believe that theory to be true. They're so clever and intentional with how they structure albums, I simply don't think it would make sense for Silent Cry to _not_ be a response to Secret Secret in some way. I love the pairing of the two. It's such a SKZ thing to do and just makes both songs that much more moving.

Silent Cry is the groups response to this song which is lovely. Please react to that.

In the year and a half since this song was recorded, I.N changed vocal teachers and is now with the same one as Seungmin switched himself over to. Subsequently, his vocal development, control, and technique have _seriously_ improved. As, I think, has his confidence in his instrument. Over the course of their group existence, which is more than five years now, I absolutely consider this last year and a half to show the most significant and accelerated development and improvement in every aspect of I.N's vocals. He's still growing and refining his skills, of course, as every good performer always strives to do, including all the other members. But post-NOEASY, he's been noticeably better -- more refined, more controlled, more stable, more flexible, more mature -- with every single release. For me as a vocalist, it's been really cool to watch the sudden acceleration of his development happening so overtly.

I still remember how much this song affected me and certain others when it first came out. There's nothing specific in the lyrics, because that's not the point of the song; as with most things SKZ, the words are up to personal interpretation. But I vividly recall a significant portion of we queer fans relating to the messages/themes of both Secret Secret and Sorry I Love You, feeling how closely both of those in some way reflect experiences that often feel especially applicable to us. I mean, the Korean title of Secret Secret (말할 수 없는 비밀) is literally "An Unspeakable Secret" or "A Secret That Can't Be Told." It's probably obvious why a concept like that would feel particularly relatable to a lot of queer people even today. This is one of those underappreciated SKZ songs that's a higher level of personally meaningful to me. "Somewhere in Korea, there's a boy who knows how I feel" was a very accurate statement by that STAY.
In case you're interested, we did get a live stag of this, and it was beautiful: ruclips.net/video/_zH2EuZDGwE/видео.html. It's worth watching at some point, even off camera.
As for providing any further info beyond what you noted from Han at the beginning, we have a bit. He wrote this during one of his lower points (we all know about his anxiety, and he himself has talked about his depression and used that specific word, so nobody try to come at me). This is from year-and-a-half-old memory, so bear with me on the finest of details, but basically he went off to a rental house/lodging/whatever for several days to be alone and work out the things in his head and turn them into art like he usually does, with just a non-3RACHA co-producer hanging out to be on hand when needed. Secret Secret was one of the songs he created during that relative alone time during a lower moment.
Something we realized when this MV released was that it's pretty overtly meant to be very personally accessible to someone who needs to hear it. It's visually dead-simple, obviously, but more than that is the actual format -- it's vertical video, 9:16 aspect ratio. In other words, it's explicitly formatted to be perfectly viewed on a phone screen. It's not meant to be an entertainment experience viewed from an objective position. It's meant to be a personal message, a subjective interaction between what feels like a one-to-one message on screen and the recipient/viewer who needs to connect with that feeling of shared experience/support.

Oh man, I wish there hadn't been a cut when you started to talk about how Chan's leadership style of pushing others forward differs from some of the styles you've known before. I would have _loved_ to hear that discussion!
