I have to disagree with UMVC 3 being more combo-open than MVC:I. the fact that you can choose in MVC:I when you can tag out and/or in makes you have more control over the characters you are playing. The thing I started to dislike about UMVC:3 is that a lot of people only picked certain characters because their assist was so good that they did most of the work for them. In MVC:I you have to work with the characters to make the combo work. And yes, UMVC:3 has 3 assists option for you to choose from, but you know almost everyone will pick the one assist that is the best one. How many times have you seen a tournament with haggar that does not use the lariat assist? I do agree on X-factor tho. I love seeing comebacks with it at tournaments but at the same time it just makes some characters so ridicoulously broken that it is not fun anymore. 20:16 Sure, Marvel 3 offers a lot of "freedom". But only if you've been playing the game since forever ago. Marvel 3 is one of those games where if you're behind, you'll forever be behind. If an inexperienced player fights an experienced player, they won't even get to play the game, and they'll learn nothing, because the game is so built around being as oppressive as possible. Doesn't sound like freedom on *that* front...
@@aamirwalker247 I get that. But it seems like you might not understand the point I was making. Games like this and the reason why the dedicated legacy players love it is the reason why almost nobody new will ever get into the game. Because the very nature of the game discourages the possibility of a new player learning or growing in the course of a match. You either know how to play, or you don't get to play. And many experienced players would simply say something along the lines of "don't get hit". Unfortunately the other side of a dedicated longtime playerbase is sometimes an almost elitist quality to it, and a much higher skill floor than competitive fighting games naturally already have.
I for one, don't find it fun to grind out annoyingly long combos in training room, get trashed, have people play a 1-player game against the ragdolls I picked as a team, until I actually get to play the game. Yeah I may be exaggerating a little, but my point is, to me - a guy who plays fighting games and has tried to get into UMvC3 - it just isn't fun. It feels like a slog, and a waste of time, and I'd rather play a fighting game that *doesn't* seem to actively hate me for not already being an expert.
@@vision4860 Online in a game like that is not a learning environment and basically only for people who already know what they're doing. While the skill ceiling for this game is so high that even mid-level play looks like an impenetrable TOD and/or zonefest (which isn't entirely wrong) the skill floor is low enough that it's pretty easy to pick up and not even particularly difficult to get good at as long as you've got an experienced player to teach and work with you. Not some gamefaqs "learn 2 blok" dipshit but someone who can actually explain things to you. I didn't start playing umvc3 until a couple years in, at which point you had to be a already be an advanced player to not get destroyed out the gate. I joined my local scene and most people there were chill and super helpful and they had me holding my own within a couple months. After a year of dedicated play, I could hang with most people in pools whenever I hit a tournament. It's much harder to find a scene like that now since the game is "dead", but between Reddit, discord, and years of material compiled on YT it's still pretty doable.
But isn't this true of any game that is very old and has a small player base. Take mk9 for example, if you tried to play today all you'd run into are cyraxs and kabals.
Zero was the only reason why I never touched this game. I always wanted to but Zero was too good. I love Zero as a character but I think I would've just felt scummy playing a character I enjoy funny enough.
Just because a character's good and has broken setups, doesn't necessarily mean you'll be doing the optimal strategies the pros do. A good zero's gameplan is simple, but he isn't a character someone can just pickup and dominate with. On an amateur/intermediate level, with no lightning loops and no constant buster charge etc., zero's okay. I love the megaman series, and played a little bit of zero but I never felt comfortable with the buster, but I kinda like how Spencer felt even though I didn't care too much about the character's background until I played him. So, maybe you would've been good with zero or not, but unless you at least feel UMvC3 and train you'd never know.
I loved playing Zero and I could never really practically do the lighting loops which was really the primary reason why he was so hated. He's a fun character all-around in my opinion, if they had nerfed his lighting loops he might be less hated, but honestly, I still feel that compared to Dr. Doom, Vergil and most other high tier characters he's not on the same level. He dies in one hit himself by almost any character, so he's an oppressive glass cannon. When it goes well it goes really well, and when it doesn't he's dead in one hit.
@@denisn8336 not as braindead as bardock but I don't think he's especially hard. his loops aren't that hard and his damage output is insane. he can easily wipe a whole team no matter what slot he's in. so definitely not as braindead as mashing LLLLLLL but still
Zero killed UMVC3. Not only is he a completely overpowering top tier who can just cover the screen with hitboxes and kill you off any touch, but he has ZERO hype. EVERY SINGLE ZERO COMBO IS THE EXACT SAME. In a game where the most fun, cool, interesting, hype shit is in the insane combo system, having a top tier with also the most boring repetitive same-y combos is fucking POISON. Get 1 bar, activate Sougenmu, dominate neutral into Lightning Loops every time. Bleh. Fuck Zero.

I'm probably not actually first
She was not a virgin
Ok dad u forgot i was 19
I- I like zero🥺
Hi
who is virgil zero and dooms equivalent in fighterz
Virgil will probably be GT Goku, dooms closest equivalent would be Vegeta pre nerf
Zero = Kid buu
Doom = kid Goku
Vergil = Bardock
@@veravera6571 wow i thought Virgil was technical is he really brain dead
@@denisn8336 not as braindead as bardock but I don't think he's especially hard. his loops aren't that hard and his damage output is insane. he can easily wipe a whole team no matter what slot he's in. so definitely not as braindead as mashing LLLLLLL but still
Doom is boo zero is gt goku and vergil is bardock.
But like u like him in the megaman game not in mvc3
Marvel infinite got rid of all the x men characters
Does anyone know how to hold Zero blaster in control
Assign L punch on either the left or right triggers whichever you feel comfortable with
come on guys..changing the move set is better.wolverine is more broken than any character in the game...
Zero does not have the lowest health though lol
Morrigan and Hawkeye destroy Zero
why u always hate zero bro
Oh yah spencer was easy
37
Third
zero is busted but keep in mind that his health is one of the lowest in the game
Damn dude you look a lot older than 29.
Thanks
Lol
Zero killed UMVC3. Not only is he a completely overpowering top tier who can just cover the screen with hitboxes and kill you off any touch, but he has ZERO hype. EVERY SINGLE ZERO COMBO IS THE EXACT SAME. In a game where the most fun, cool, interesting, hype shit is in the insane combo system, having a top tier with also the most boring repetitive same-y combos is fucking POISON. I know there's counterplay and you can obviously just git gud but seriously more than any other character Zero just shuts down neutral and shits out damage off every touch for no reason. Get 1 bar, activate Sougenmu, dominate neutral into Lightning Loops every time. Bleh. Fuck Zero.
