Not true, the majority of them were in the rain, probably just poor bike setup, too much air in the tyres I'd guess. It's an easy mistake to make for circuit racing

The flow through at the 2008 Olympics went over the blue carpet... my friend was taken out in there. Still has rug burn scars in 2024

Everyone is here complaining about how bad triathletes are on bikes, yet it’s a “compilation of crashes.”
to all the comments, these few crashes don’t account for all triathletes.
I've met a ton of triathletes, honestly most of them suck at cycling cause they aren't that interested at it. They know they have to push some watts, but not too much to keep some energy for the running. If you're lucky they know how to get in a somewhat aero position. But that's about it, and bike handling skills just isn't interesting to the marority of them
Respect to the athletes. But those "swimming suits" look ridiculous!

i worked as a volunteer in the ironman maastricht last year. it did rain and the roads were wet. there were some people who slipped and some had really bad looking injuries when they checked in in the bike transition.
Damn. Happens I guess. Respect for working as a volunteer 👊

Big tyres and strait steer, mountainbikers still don't have thát much technical skills. Cyclocross is the real deal. Thinner tyres make corners and different undergrounds way harder. Don't get we wrong some mtb'ers are great cyclocross riders and the other way to. But in technical aspect cyclocross is just a harder disciplin
Pedobear well it depents where are you riding riding a cx bike on flat grass is eazy but riding a dh bike down a fucking mountain is hard as fuck and the other way around riding a cx down a muddy hill is hard but riding a trail bike on some beginer trails is eazy so i think its not what you ride is where you ride
Mihael Glavičić I'm fully in on that with you. What I meant is the xc racing indeed. Overall they are just not the most technical on bikes, especially when they ride a different disciplin. But like a Ferrand-Prevot, Neff, Absalon and a lot of swiss riders are good cyclocross riders to. I have a friend who used to do downhill on a high level, I know those guys are extremely technical with bikes, mtb, road, cyclocross it all doesn't matter. Trial is something else I think though😉 but don't get me wrong mtb is an incredible sport, much respect for the long races and guts to go around the dangerous courses. But I just think it doesn't require the technical skills as much as some other disciplines. Seen many mtb riders think cyclocross would be for them because they say they are very technical on their mtb, but failed miserably😅 I did mtb for some months to. Just for fun in the summer so it won't just be road training. Had a lot of fun with it, but really felt cornering and undergrounds are so much easyer on those fat tyres. But you wouldn't be able to send me down a rock garden! Not saying because being technical on a cyclocross bike is my strongest point I'm good at mtb to. It's a whole other world with different points that are important. But you just have the difference in the technicality
