Agreed! I still feel unsafe and violated 12 years later, after my little home burglarized. Police never would tell me who they recovered some of my cherished items from. A year after burglary, police called me to come pick up my stuff. About 1/4th recovered. Thieves also got a copy of my birth certificate and social security card (never recovered) and strangled my dog to keep him from barking while I arrived home and unloaded groceries to back porch which gave them time to slip out front door. My dog was hoarse for a week and had trouble swallowing, but thankfully, they did not let him loose, out the door, to run crazy in the street while they went thru my stuff. They must have had hours to go thru 'everything' - my floors were totally covered with files of papers (I'm a bookkeeper) along with all my belongings, clothes from drawers and closets, Antique dishes piled by front door, ice cream from fridge thrown against walls. This will never leave me.

@@ehayes7849 I can not imagine what you went and are still going through. We had just got back from boating and all two cars had boats and cars were still unlocked. We went inside to use the restroom all of us, they robbed the cars- stealing all our pew pews. That fast. On camera too. Literally had to have been hiding in the woods watching us. I’ve had nightmares since that we were shot with our own guns. We moved after that. I couldn’t handle the fear anymore. We were treated like criminals giving DNA swabs, getting fingerprinted and it was all on our surveillance video. Praying for you.

I am so sorry this happened to you. We had our locked car stolen overnight. My husband went out to leave for work and our car was gone! We felt so violated. The police never found our car. I am so glad you reported it to the sheriff. Hopefully, the young man will get some help.

It absolutely causes fear, I would be thinking I hope he doesn't come back and break into my house. I'm a worry wort . You absolutely did the right thing by filing a complaint. People need to be held accountable for their actions. Of course he apologized to Brooke, he's trying to play on your nice side hoping you won't press charges. IMO you did the right thing Mr. WordSmith.

That is absolutely horrible. Thank God nobody was hurt. He's the kind that if a customer rolled up on him he may have injured someone over 8 or 10 dollars. He thought he could leave his home town and rob outsiders and no one would know him, but he was wrong.
Prayers for no more degenerate people.
