I had the absolute PRIVILIGE to be driven at 'top speed' in 5th gear - in reverse when I was 14yrs old - 1963 - as a UK Army cadet. I always dreamed of owning one during my teenage years but - - - alas I did 'end up' with a Vanden Plas 4litre in 1969 :-)
I always wonder if this vehicle could be recreated as is but with more modern technology, at the time that the Austin Champ was created it was way ahead of it's time and considered to be complicated and expensive compared to the Land Rover. And I also wonder if there could be someone that has tastefully resto-modded their Champ and has that engine tuned up.

The B40 is one of the best engines made.
They also raced that engine in cars!
One very good vehicle. Compared to any other 4wd even to this day, it's far more comfortable.
