    Brilliant! A proper over budgeted fire dept would never think of breaking up bales like this. Great job folks!

    Nice video! Since GCRFD explorers ended right now I am filling out there application to become a VFF and use the training I had and I am planning to stay in GCRFD until summer before I move to Indiana.

      @@soonerstatefirephotography it works really well you just have to make sure that you don't fight each other and you keep parallel we ended up putting a third chain slack between the two that just kind of made a lazy Loop behind us and that worked really well

    Could try adding a few long nuts and bolts to the center links of the chain to help it grab the bales better. Not sure if it'd work, but thought about that when I seen the chain dragging the bales.

      @@george8873 I actually made some big hooks out of electric fence posts that we were going to try but they were in the toolbox in my truck we ended up looping a third chain slack behind in a lazy Loop and it did really well we're looking at getting a section of drag Harrow now to just put between the two chains but yes good thought

    Kinda surprised yall haven't tried the wet fire blanket trick yet.
    The old wet suffocation technique till its cold. Im also surprised so many bailer fires, we have extra PWs mounted on everything in bailing season. Maybe farmers in the mid west dont bother with fire extinguishers.

    look im not a fire fighter , but on these long lines of grass fires , can you bring out a huge hairy ass cat bull dozer with like a 20 foot wide plow , and plow baby plow , as for those hay bails dig a big hole and burry them save water for the bigger fire ???

    • @jrockyhill
      @jrockyhill  4 месяца назад +2

      @markashcraft9624 sure you could do that but there's no shortage of water here and our style is way faster a bulldozer would be slow and let the fire extend possibly damaging more property not every style Works in every area ideally if you had a second truck backing up the first truck you could run about 10 mph on a heavy fire and put the whole thing out in one shot without damaging hay Fields with a big bulldozer blade

      The VFD around here have a great rapport with the county road crews and they try to get out and cut a fire line but leave the bails alone.
