I bought the Givi rack because it had a complete flat top and it looked properly designed, as a bonus it’s thickly powder coated and in four years it’s never moved. Might get the panniers this spring for a bit of simple touring to the lakes and north wales.
I’ve used Givi luggage for years. I had the 35 liter side cases and the 46 liter top case that worked very well for cross-country trips. I’ve had the top case for over 15 years. It still functions like new. However, I bought the 22 liter side cases you demonstrated, and have not been as satisfied. The cases aren’t up to the quality of the ones I had before. They are much more affordable, but I guess you get what you pay for. The material is thinner, and the locking mechanism has never worked like it should. It’s a chore removing them from the bike. I’m always concerned I’m going to twist off the key trying to get them to release. I may have gotten some early production models, but I wouldn’t buy the ones I have again. Otherwise, I would always recommend Givi products.
Would be (more) interesting imo to show luggage options for an Interceptor with pea shooter exhaust. The up-swept stock exhaust limits pannier options tremendously, and anyone with a RE 650 most likely already knows what their options are. Also, by doing a video on a pea shooter bike you'll sell more pea shooters as well as luggage.
I know each to their own but I wouldn't buy another Givi topbox or panniers again. Brought both for a MT07, the frames rusted in a year and all the boxes started leaking just out of warranty. Contacting Givi was a waste of time, I would recommend Shad. Had a topbox all through the winter and its never leaked.
The problem for me is that the bike looks retro but those boxes look too modern for the bike. I’d rather have waterproof bags so at least they look the part.
I hate to be critical but when I compare your videos with those from Uncle Stu, Bingley or Freddie D., I think you will agree that your offering falls short. We don't actually need to see you to know that you are talking; we can hear you. When you were showing the quality of the rack, all we could see was you pointing at it as picked up on a fixed camera some distance away. you should have been holding the camera doing a close up. You mention using a topbox to store your helmet on arrival. Why not show how a full face helmet fits (or not) into the 29L box? I am interested in yor products and hope you can take this as objective criticism.
Thank you for putting up this video. Givi do indeed have some good products; I have one of their top-boxes on my Moto Guzzi.
Excellent video as per 😊😊 it looks well cool 😊

This is great! I'd love to see some options come up for the new SG650.
is that the rumored Classic 650? can't wait to see that bike.
Very good, thanks

The only problem with my Givi top box is you can lock the key inside the box 😳 It really should latch closed then locked with the key if needed.

Citing Freddie Dobbs is absolutely laughable. Wouldn't trust his expertise on anything beyond lattes and plimsolls.
What size do you take?
