@@ryanmcwilliams8784 have the similar elevation in Colorado and you don't see that very often. Even with the 2000 feet gained, you're not looking at more than five or so feet Extra distance and most of those home runs were way beyond 5 ft past the wall
@@TroutWest Coors field was nuts when they first started in the 90's. They started storing their baseballs in a humidor in 2002 to cut down on the craziness. Mexico city is 2000ft higher and I'm assuming they're just using regular baseballs so it's basically the 90's at Coors plus 2000ft.

Some people's children! #1 The elevation in Mexico City is 7,329' which is 2,129' higher than Denver. #2 The temperature is higher in Mexico City. #3 The field dimensions in Mexico City's ballpark is a lot less than at Coor's Field. All three of these facts explain the HR output of this game! It is much easier to hit them in this ballpark than in Denver, YOU ARE NOT SMARTER THAN A FIFTH GRADER!

@@0524cami u can only feasibly say that about nando's homer as well as the second machado homer. Soto, bogey, machado's first, and cruz tore the cover off their balls and at minimum would have had XBH's if not homers. Aka coors field but a little more amplified. Good pitching still reigns supreme which is why nick martinez closed 2 innings spotlessly
@@erikletendre7512 maybe some of those would’ve dropped as XBH but there’s a reason the over/under was 15.5 when it’s usually 6.5-9.5 for a regular game.
That was a fun game to watch but my one complaint was...I don't know who it was I think a Padres fan...but that guy who was shouting loudly throughout the game needed to SHUT UP. Dios mío! At one point I haded to mute my TV.

Elevation in Mexico City is over 2,000 feet higher then coors field. So I mean it’s kinda expected but it was cool
When Vegas set the over/under at 15.5 runs, you knew it was gonna go over and tons of runs would be scored. This was my biggest bet of the day. I won $1000 on this game knowing they would easily combine for over 15.5 runs. Betting baseball is so damn fun and easy

Been in Mexico City the past few weeks. Only found out about this game a few days before. Had no idea. Kicking myself I didn't get tickets as it was already sold out.
So turns out playing 7000ft above sea level makes Home Runs happen more often. Whoever could have known.

PS - In the interest of fairness, I wish the Giants sacrificed one of their home games against the Padres instead of the latter sacrificing two. At least MLB has done a better job with choosing neutral site match-ups (all divisional since the late 2000's) unlike the other three sports.
