Great coverage ✅. I'm not an expert but lighting and maintenance is somehow needed. You don't want rust in tea.

Rust cannot be allowed with machines direct into contact with food... that's the brown color of fermented tea. Mind you all these factories are certified with food safety regulations such as HACCP, GMPs, ISO etc...with regular internal & external audits. Mind you the bulk majority of this tea is for export...gas very stringent measures which are adhered to strictly!

Iron parts are too rustic for food processing equipment; no wonder our life expectancy is steadily decreasing. Why not use aluminum and stainless steel in places susceptible to oxidation?

There are magnets, and the material has integrity..... doesn't produce filings

You don't need to clean machines ..just lubricant/maintenance. But it's not always that's it's peak season. Ideally, tea processing ends around 10am(having started at 2am), the washing/cleaning of the factory and the machines rest until the next day 2am. They only run continuously during peak season, and even then ,time is created after 48 hours for cooling/maintenance.

Too much human contact with the tea could create hygiene queries.

What source of energy do the tea dryers use in this factory?
Apparently firewood is still a source of energy in tea factories in Kenya, am trying to understand the extent of this practice.
