Your video was the clearest on RUclips as to how to do the first few steps. I quickly understood what to do as I followed along with an actual lock. You took the time to show the small details. Thank you.

Thanks for the close up inside. I couldn't get spindles out. This was so helpful I got it right away this time.

Really great video my friend!!! I am just starting a mobile locksmith business and this really helps out. I knew there was a clone or clones for kwikset locks but I did not know how different they were. It is Christmas morning 2023 and I want to thank you and wish you a wonderful Christmas.

Hi Kilo, I have a Kwikset Titan interior doorknob that has a very weak handle spring. Do you have a video that shows how to replace the spring? I have the doorknob removed from the door but not sure how to remove (replace) the handle tension spring.

Love this video! On the clone what stops the cylinder from pulling out everytime you unlock the door? Thanks David

“Go about your rekeying process “…thats the info I actually watched this video for….Can you explain that ‘key’ element in the procedure?

So, these videos were made in a certain order when I began the channel, this was video 11.
Video 1 on my channel shows the basics on rekeying. However, it showed how to disassemble a defiant knob and this video was a response to viewers who had the older kwikset styles.
My videos start out with the basics and gradually move up in difficulty and experience levels.

When I purchase a Kwikset lock how do I know if I get a clone or an original I currently have which I believe to be a Kwikset lock assembly with a broken part between the spring assembly and the door knob this part has the two threaded tubes which attaches door knob to the door I would like to buy another lock and just replace the lock assembly with the broken one this way I don't have to rekey all the entry locks

Where can a person buy four cylinders already keyed to the same key along with that tool?

I have watched several of these videos and all of them use new Knobs. I have found older knobs aren't as easy especially when removing the lockset from the knob. Rust and timemakes the removal very difficult. Do you have any tips to make this easier?

Spraying lubricant inside can help loosen it up a bit, depending how severe. Also, if it's a clone or certain dexter style, it also could be a style that requires the key to be turned 180(upside down) to remove the core.

@@LockandKiloThanks for the great video. I'm playing with an old clone and have a key that works roughly but turns the cylinder. I go 180 and nothing comes apart. I'm thinking the spring is broken or the metal tabs are stuck. It's probably trash, but I'm just learning. Any thoughts?

My Kwikset doorknob doesn't look like either of those. The shaft coming out is a square post with a slim piece of brass in the middle.

On those styles, you may refer to my video [9] How to Disassemble a Defiant Doorknob.
You may have a similar/same style doorknob to that one!
You may also email a photo of your lock to LockandKilo@Gmail and I will gladly give you an idea if it is different from video [9]!

You just didn’t show how to rekey the lock, you just show how to disassemble it but not rekeying it.

These were early videos on the channel when I originally was just making them for apprentices in the shop lol
They had the concept of rekeying, but not how to disassemble all locks and versions of locks.
This video was made when my only viewers were 3 apprentices haha
My later videos I started breaking it down more for the DIYers once the channel unexpectedly blew up.

@@LockandKilo It would probably make sense to update the description body. Insert a link for those who want to modify the pins in the cylinder.
