Just found you on my home page. I like the silage chopping and the IH tractors so I also subscribed. Hope to see more content with the IH tractors since there are not many being used today as it was back in the 70s and 80s.
Good video of corn chopping. Never felt with a new holland chopper ever I know some of them take a lot of hp. A neighbor of mine had one and we had a jd chopper on the farm I worked on. His tractor would blow smoke and he was going so slow. Everyone has their own preferences on equipment.
@@ryanbachman9227 This one takes power, but I have it cutting as short as possible with 12 knifes. Alot of guys only run 6 knives in them. I will say it takes alot less power chopping corn then it did chopping rye!
We quit cutting our own silage several years ago. They come in big industrial cutter several trucks and a quad track ti push silage in pile. Done in couple days no repair nightmares on cutters we are free to go on about the business of many other projects.
@@Heimerviewfarm Good to see ya around Jorden! Any more haying videos for you this year? And silage corn did very well! Hope I'm not disappointed when I get the combine out!
You certainly can't complain about the amount of grain in that. It's nice looking stuff. I've always wanted to do corn silage but can't really justify it for a dozen cows.
@@e.a.bfarms I could say that you are are a bad influence giving me ideas like that but since that's the kind of thing I think about all the time I can't blame you. 🤣 Don't worry I've had an idea for a narrow bunk that would hold a few acres of corn if I wanted to try it. Bagging would probably be the best option but I'd have to buy one because there is no one with a bagger around here anywhere.
@Rollinghillsfarmsmn Duals stay on year around on the big tractors. Typically, the newholland has them year around also. The ride is 100 times smoother with duals.

That corn looks like it's the perfect moisture for bagging. 👍🍻
@@LVFFarmVlogs Nice to see ya watching Brad! Wouldn't of hurt to be 5 or 10 points higher but it will feed out fine!

@joescheller6680 Custom choppers are hard to find in our area. . .Definitely the way to go if the price is right!

Don't look at it like it's for a dozen cows, look at it like you can feed 3 dozen on the same farmed acres. . That's how it pays.

Does the chopper have a kernel processor in it ?
@kenhill7105 It does not, some day we will upgrade to one with a Kp. .
@@e.a.bfarms My brother has a 792 that doesn't have one, sucks to see whole kernels getting thru.
@kenhill7105 I have this 900 set as short as possible, it actually cracks 80% of them or so. Kp really wouldn't pay just for beef cows. . .
Nice looking feed; I can smell it from here😅. Love your big IH with duals. It looked dry, were the duals just a precaution?
