How to Calibrate the Fisher 3582i Positioner

In order to obtain good process control, it is important that the valve can be efficiently and accurately positioned.This video provides an overview on calibrating the Fisher 3582i Positioner on a Fisher 667 Size 30 Actuator.

Just a note, when calibrating a positioned with a nonlinear.Cam performing a "reverse calibration" where the valve is moved to the cardinal point, then the tolerance is applied to the input rather than the output common on a traditional calibration. That way a linear tolerance can be applied making the calibration somewhat easier. Nonlinear cams could be "Quick Opening" or "Equal Percent or a custom cam for specialty valve trims. Another note, on a 667 actuator when coupled to a " push down to cloise" valve trim, it is important that the positioned be completely vented at 0% to ensure full design force is imposed on the trim to ensure valve leakage specifications are met. Conversely, if a 657, direct acting actuator were used, at full span input, 15 Psig, that the positioned is calibrated to ensure full regulator pressure is imposed on the trim, because it's the difference between the upper bench set & regulator pressure that determines seat load. So in this case the calibration would ensure that at max input span, 15 psig, the actuator is saturated with full regulator pressure. This assures full seat load when valve is closed ensuring seat leakage criteria is met.

No se le entiende el ingles...se ve bastante diestro en lo que hace pero el acento no permite distinguir algunas pronunciaciones, deberia mejorar su entonacion. Disculpen si suena xenofobico, pero no es asi, valoro mucho el trabajo multicultural, pero este tipo de video va orientado a mejorar la percepcion de un metodo, haciendolo ver sencillo, el asunto del acento causa ruido
