I don’t know, man. Lady Gaga and Stevie Nicks are both amazing song writers. I’m sure I can think of many others, too! It’s not like Mariah is the only one. I do appreciate her to write her own songs though I didn’t know before that she’s actually a talented song writer. People in Europe don’t know her that much. Beyoncé is so much more popular in Europe for some reason. I do like “Caution” so much! It’s such a great album!!💗

It honestly pains me that there are people my age (22) that actively don't like her and her music and some that don't even know her really! I'm not saying this just as a fan, but "Caution" is one of the best albums of the year and one of her most well-done albums with great music that is both edgy and classic. I want her to have one more big hit, not for me, but for her to have one last F**K you to the industry. Unfortunately, time changes all things. I wish she had almost released it in September so that she could use the momentum to get nominated for best R&B album at the Grammys because we all know she damn well would win! Mariah was and is the perfect representation of what a music and pop cultural icon should be.
Her music establishes herself on a level all her own, her natural beauty cannot be compared, she's so much nicer and more charismatic than Madonna who allowed her ego to supplant some of her personality, she is a person of her era yet she is still so current and effortlessly cool at all times, and her mixed-race heritage represents the future of what more and more Americans will look like, and yet I can't figure out why the current generation can't even mildly get into her. I know there are youngs fans, but she really just isn't on anyone's radar that I know, and it's a damn shame.

Most younger ppl aren't going to like 40+ year old pop stars. They only like trap rappers, and mediocre young pop stars like Selena Gomez
Young people have access to more music than ever these days and barely have to pay for it, relative to what it used to cost. It's hardly anything to feel sorry for.
And, if you don't solely rely on Billboard or Social Media to direct you to what to listen to, there are plenty of great new artists out there as well. (IMO there are some that make it to Billboard too.)
I used to think "old" music was the end all be all (just like every other person before me has thought), but after I got over myself I was able to appreciate a lot of new music. As far as I'm concerned things have never been better.
There are tools that help you find anything and connect you to new music, from any decade, based on your tastes. Plus the music industry isn't the gatekeeper it once used to be, so people are able to get themselves out there in ways they couldn't when I was growing up. As far as I'm concerned it's an exciting time to be listening.

And being a huge George Michael fan, I was floored when back in 1990 I heard an album with a young lady on the cover who sang her heart out and wrote the songs too! George Michael was an amazing singer/song writer, and Mariah is up there with him in terms of the total package. The have/had the vocals. The charisma. The hit song writing. The looks. Love them.
Her behavior has changed compare to her previous appearance here during 2016 which I find better.

I love Mariah so much. I'm so thankful that I got to grow up listening to her music, being dyslexic was really a challenge for me as a child but learning Mariah's songs helped me expand my vocabulary a lot, she's always been an amazing writer and I thank her for helping me learn a shit ton of big words and help me understand them. My mother had all her albums and I would sit and read the album booklets with the lyrics in them for hours just so I could sing along to every word. I was 2 the first time I recall hearing her music and now being 21 I feel so blessed to have the pleasure of being part of the lambly ❤️ Mariah is a true talent and truly one of a kind.
