Making new friends in your twenties is sooo hard, I can relate. People have busy lives, work, responsibilities, family and friends to see. But there's always people who want to meet new people like you, they will come!
Thank you angel 🤍🤍 I definitely have faith, I think it’ll just take longer than I expected!!! xx
also don't believe that people do not reach because they are busy. You're never too busy if you really want to make sth. I am exactly in your same situation on my 30s and it is hard... but keep up!
The fake time lapse SENT me 😂 I loved this video style! Great job as always hon 🖤🖤🖤
hahaha i'm so glad you liked it, ethan's such a funny boy lol
I would like to see more of these weekly vlogs, I liked it. It would also be great if you could show your outfits throughout the days too :)
such a good idea!!! i wear activewear 90% of the time i'm working but i'm going to try wear cute stuff to show you guys hahaha xx
Week vlogs are so fun! I imagine it’s a bit difficult trying to make one day feel super “vlogable” from start to end, as opposed to filming some fun things that happen throughout the week when you’re up to it. But whatever makes you happy and is more fulfilling. Love your content as always! 🌻
i totally agree with you!! this felt a lot more fun for me!
I completely agree with you. I am always the one reaching out for people and I am getting used to the idea of leaving people behind if they don't make the effort. It is hard but sometimes it is the best.
i agree, setting boundaries is super important and i know how hard this can be! sending love xx
I love the partition you made between your work and living space! I think it looks best upright for sure, and maybe you could put a trailing plant on the end of it if you don't like the look of it rn? xo
I tried that and it looked so weird 😭😭 rip
@@scrivspo Maybe try to find some kind of really cute room divider? You can find some that are kind of translucent that still will let light through to your desk.
Just here to pop in and say I love your videos and always get excited to see when you put a new one up :)
This makes me so happy, thank you 🥰🥰
Ideas to section off your workspace:
- A shelf similar to the one you put up but bigger, and then the little one next to it, upright. That way it would also look good from the side because there will be two different heights
- A big plant where the shelf currently is, it sections off the living room and it also brings in some "zen" vibes to the office section
yesss a plant was my other idea, although i really love the storage this shelf provides. if only this apartment was like 2m longer lol
I totally get the want for financial stability, manifesting the perfect job for you 🥰 thank you for this lovely vlog, your videos are so comforting to me
Thank you angel 🤍🤍🤍
It is super hard to make friends in a new town, it really involves putting yourself out of your comfort zone so much but I’ve found finding activities like a cheeky dance class / gym class / something with a shared interest can help build a network.
Also I dunno if it’s your vibe but I love doing jigsaws as a non screen activity, your local library might have some you can borrow !
Good luck with making pals here though, it only gets harder in your 30s 😅
yesss i'm definitely wanting to do a ceramics class or something!! and omg noooo i can imagine that lol RIP
the whole segment about making friends hits so close to home omg !! i started working from home in august and since then it’s been so hard to find new people to connect with, especially since i’m a very introverted person and haven’t been leaving my house that much (it’s been very cold, snowy and gloomy since november so i just hate the outside rn). i have my few close friends since university but most of them have full time jobs and partners and very little time to spare. and i very much agree about feeling fulfilled after spending some time with friends even if it’s just working together in complete silence🌚
though i do believe the right people will come along when we need them !!
also i love the idea of weekly vlogs, they’re literally peak comfort content for me🥺
sending you lots of love and support🤍
i agree that the right people will come along for us! i'm sad you know the feeling, but i also feel really comforted knowing i'm not alone. you have a friend in me!! xxx
@@scrivspo and you have friends in all of us!🤍
it’s so hard to make friends in a new city!!!! I’m having the same experience as you, and my advice would be: try to find a hobby, or like a gym class, a dance class, a ceramics class, choir, etc that involves other people and make a priority to be part of it! that way you’ll be able to see more people regularly and hopefully bond with someone that has similar interests to you 🤍
love this! i definitely want to do a class or something where i can meet some new people! thanks for your validation and advice xxx
Full week vlog is definitely the way to go, such a great format!😊☀️
aw yay i'm so glad you enjoyed!
weekly vlogs are my favee
yayy i'm so happy you enjoyed!!!
Looooved this weekly vlog
this makes me so happy! always here to try keep things real!
i was sick last weekend and felt the whole week groggy and so unproductive and as im nearing exam season i feel such intense need to be productive 100% of the time so im hoping as tomorrow is the start of the new week i can get in a good routine and get my shit together but also know that i can take time for myself to reset and relax every know and then and be ok with the breaks! thank u as always for these comfort vlogs they are my fav way to wind down💘💘💘
Yesss just remember that you can’t show up for yourself if you don’t give yourself time to rest and recover 🤍 good luck with your exams I really hope they go well xxx
I don't think the shelf looks weird, but maybe add a floor plant at the end, it would help make even more separation. I like it!
yess we need so many plants in this place!!
i love the final living room layout!! glad that everything is working out for you hunny (i almost passed away from work and food poisoning send help)
i like it how it is too! omg are you OK???? i hate food poisoning so much 😭
the shot with the camera in the fridge!! so cute!🥰
hehe so glad you liked it!!
Inspiring me to go on more walks and get a colouring book I think my week needs both of those things, love you 🌸🌸
aw love youuu
I really like this weekly thing
aw so glad you enjoyed!!
your videos are so relaxing for me, I really love your canal, your energy is amazing, so thanks.
This means so much to me, thank you for your support ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Maybe you can get a wall mounted shades rack for your sunglasses or the kinds that hang in a closet so it can be where you get ready and free up that little cabinet for more storage.
ooo thats a great idea!
@@scrivspo Yea! Glad you think so! 🤗
Always down to go on walks around the Carlton Gardens if you ever want company!
Ur the sweetest ever 🫶🏼
LOL “dressing 6 months ahead” trend setters. Icons. Luminaries.
we really are fashion icons
loved this video glad to see you take care of yourself and detach from screens, so good for your mind! move that shelf to the first place you had it and stick a big plant in front of it for the visual separation, it'll create levels between the furniture too! youre doing great dont beat yourself up over productivity live life and have fun
thank you so much natalie xx
loved that pink blouse on you so much!! it fits the summer palette too doesn’t it?
thank u queen :) it's probably a little bit bright for the summer palette but i like to wear it anyway!!
Late to the video this week! So here's a collection of comments lol.
Melbourne looks so gorgeous! Seeing your walks makes me want to get up and out. Unfortunately, it's -10C and sleeting/snowing in my part of the United States. :( Making friends is SO, SO hard when you're either working for yourself or remote. I find signing up for things really helps. I did an improv class when I first moved to the area and met some friends that way.
Podcasts! Lately I've been listening to Maintenance Phase (debunking the diet industry - so fascinating).
And the new desk partition looks so great!! I like it upright and tall and maybe you could put some plant hangers or something so it isnt just a ... white wall lol.
i'm going to add that podcast to my list! and i do really want to join a class, i think that's a really good idea. thanks for watching xxx
I loved watching this to unwind! It’s such a cool, chill vlog
awww so happy you enjoyed stephanie!! thanks for your love and support xx
It is so buzzy watching you cus I see so many similarities of myself so so random n cool! Going to Melbourne next week and will thrift like scriv
omg so cute!!! love that you see yourself in me, that makes me so happy to know i have a kindred spirit hehe
I would suggest to put another shelf on top of the existing one to add some height, then it will be square like the Kallax from Ikea (or set two shelves next to each other, facing the wall of course). This will separate the space even more.I heard that the differences in the height of the furniture will make the eye wander not only horizontally, but also vertically, thanks to which the living room will seem even more interesting. A second rug separating the desk similar to the first one is also a great idea. I've also heard a lot about not pushing furniture to the walls, but I can't execute it in my home. Sometimes you just can't because of the layout of the room. PS. Weekly vlogs are the best :)
loooove these ideas so much. we definitely want to play around with it and find a better solution, thanks so much for your input!! xxx
I do love the idea of separated space in the main area. Truly loved the shelves out a bit more but short so the sun can still get to you while you work. Check out Fengshui videos!!
ooh yes i'll have a look at some Fengshui videos, thank you for your input!
loved the vlog! i really enjoy your casual videos vs the curated ones (which i still like of course lol i hope you get what i mean)
yes i totally get you!!! i really like to have a mix on my channel so i'm really glad you like both 💝
Something you could do for the helf situation is buy another one that is shorter and make it look like a stairs king of stituation, so you keep the divition biut it does not look weird andwould have more storage
that's a fun idea! thank you!!
Made my day to see you post, your videos are my comfort videos
Thank you so much angel! I really appreciate your validation 🤍🤍🤍 also I will give that idea a go, it just tends to make the kitchen area look cluttered. Ugh I wish I was an interior designer and was good at this stuff lol
I enjoyed the week vlog. The set up looks nice, all I could think of was finding a much bigger shelving unit to be a divider but that probably would cost so much more. I have basically one friend myself where I’ve grown up a majority of my life but I’m glad you’re trying to make more.
Yeah in an ideal world I would get a different unit but I’ll keep this one for now and see how it goes
Put hanging plants on the shelving unit. That’s what I did and it made it blend in better
cute idea!!
The timelapse was so funny ^^
lmao so glad you enjoyed!
I’m also new in Melbourne and feel the same way. Need to meet people but everyone has already their group of friends and that makes it really difficult to actually connect with people
aw i'm sorry you're also feeling this way. i'm thinking of hosting a picnic with all my melbourne subscribers, i'll post about it on my ig sometime soon if you're interested in meeting some new people xx
@@scrivspo that sounds great. I’ll love to go
Flipping love your weekly vlogs ❤️
Your vlogs always motivate me to get stuff done, usually folding
We call it a folding party 😂
Annnnd I think a little rug under your desk can help separate the space x
aw yayyy i'm so glad you enjoy spending time with me, my fave way to watch vlogs is when i'm cooking/cleaning/doing laundry so i'm with you!! and yes i definitely want to get a rug!
More weekly vlogs 👏🏻👏🏻
Yaaaaay filming another rn
My suggestion would be to put legs on the cube unit to bring it up off the floor a bit. I work from home as well and completely understand needing to separate your 'office' from the living room. I too live in a one bedroom so I absolutely get it.
ooo cute idea!! and glad you can relate!
I think the cupboard looked good standing! You could put some art on the blank side if you don't like that, but it does divide the room nicely. You could also just get a room divider!
Also I really like the weekly vlogs. I'm not into daily vlogs or vlogs in general tbh but I like yours :)
aw i'm so honoured that you enjoy my vlogs!! and thank you for your advice re the shelving x
What if you got a second shelving unit, kept them both on their sides and fastened them together to make a more solid and taller partition? Would separate out the spaces nicely and be even more storage!
yesss this is a good idea, i worry our space is too small for this but i might map it out on photoshop!
Lately i've been thinking about productivity, and how we measure ourselves or people in general according production per hour, like we do with machines . And i have made the decision to not to look at myself that way, its dehumanising , and it really has made a change in the way i live my life and why i chose to works hard .
ugh i totally agree with you. i need to reframe my perspective on "productivity" generally, but it really is hard when you work for yourself
@@scrivspo i think that setting goals and working hard towards them vs being active for the sake of being active and not feeling like you add nothing or are lazy or have no value is different
It really helps me thinking of a baby and how it adds nothing to the world other than its existence yet it is more than enough and extremely valuable. And nothing changed , we are enough simply existing ❤️✨
@@RachelAnastasiaFurman that is such a beautiful way to look at life, thank you for sharing
@@scrivspo ❤️
I moved to Melbourne in November and totally relate to how you are feeling! So hard to find the right connections.
it really is! but we will find the right people!! ps. i'm thinking of organising a picnic with my melb subscribers, i'll post about it on my ig story at some point if you're interested in joining xx
@@scrivspo will keep an eye out for it! Definitely keen 😊
i think it would look good to have something much taller in between the desk and couch to add visual interest! and break up the line
yeah i think you're right! we'll keep playing around with it
💛
love ya xx
Happy Valentine's day 🎉 love you and everything u do. Keep up great work 👍. Lot's if love 💘♥...
happy valentines day to you too tammy, thanks for your love and support 💓
I don’t know if this is helpful at all but Ive moves a fair bit and I always try get a job in a shop/cafe/bar one shift a week when I move somewhere new if I have time - means I’ll meet people and gives me a lil bit of structure. It’s how I’ve met a lot of my favourite people along the way too 🥰
i really love this idea! i did recently think about applying for part time jobs, i'm not sure i have the time at the moment but maybe even just volunteering once a month would help! xx
I actually met my best friend on bumble friends!! Maybe it’s worth a try :))
yes i did bumble bff when i first moved and met up with someone!! i should get back on it, i just get so nervous lol
Girlie where did you get that oh heck cap?! I need it! Also, Ethan is the chillest youtube bf I've ever seen lol
Also, editing this comment because I have an idea (idk if you want any advice on this but here goes): Imo the best way to divide your living room and office space is by putting in a big house plant! Maybe even use the shelf and a house plant like a monstera or something. That would look super nice, add some greenery and really act as a natural divide :))
i thrifted it, somebody said it was merch for a youtuber though! maybe try find one on Ebay!? and he really is the best youtube bf ever hahaha
Hi Harriet! Can you share us your top 10 books that you had read.
if you look on my instagram highlights i have some book recommendations there! x
Love you babe
❤️❤️
@@scrivspo ❤️❤️😘😘
i prefer weekly vlogs as well:)
Yay I’m so glad!!
The pic you're trying to re-create in the beginning is a picture of someone showing a selfie on the phone... I was so confused when u were trying to take a picture of your phone's screen in selfie mode, I was like, that's not how the photo was maaaddeee.. you can doo it!!
I thought she was taking it live!? It looks like that to me!!
@@scrivspo The photo on the phone is taken on the street, but looks like the person holding the phone has grass behind it or on second thought maybe that's the print on the t-shirt... Anyways to me the angle is also a bit off I don't know.. the person with the green jacket is probably high up to have angled the photo like that. And else there are at least 2 people involved in taking the picture. That's my analysis :-) Maybe we should ask whymarj how they took the photo haha. Thanks for replying! Love your vids! greetings from the Netherlands
Hey girl! I've just moved to Melbourne too, If you ever want to hang out and grab coffee let me know :)
you're AN ANGEL!!! thank you!! i've had a few subscribers reach out so i think i'm going to organise a picnic so we can all meet each other - i'll post about it on my ig but i would love for you to come xxx
@@scrivspo That would be really fun and the weather has been so nice lately, perfect for a picnic. (Although that could change quite quickly lol)
