"excelent" is a word I just can't apply to EVs, it's just too early for celebrating, at least 2 decades are needed to really iron out the problems with EVs . Sad almost no one talks about these problems, oh and it's not just the battery. Have you guys though for how much are you going to sell your EV after 5-6 years of use? Do you know ho much it costs to make even the simplest repair? How about bigger repairs? Do you know how much depreciation an EV gets in little time? My nephew has a Renault EV for about 6 years and can't find a battery replacement because they are no longer manufactured, he is hoping some crashed car with the same battery in good condition will solve this problem. This is completely unacceptable. Also car insurances are very high for EVs, I wonder why. Oh and please check the new video on this channel "In some countries Chinese EVs are almost impossible to insure" this alone speaks volumes about Chinese EVs. And the always present range problem and battery safety and cold climates limitations.

Regrettably, Tesla made two fundamental miscalculations in recent years which now pave the way for China to gain a relatively quick advantage and ultimately dominating position in the overall EV market. First, Elon Musk decided early on in the evolution of Tesla vehicles that design concepts would be "open source" and not extensively protected by patent law. The idea being that this philosophy would accelerate (no pun intended) proliferation and acceptance of EVs worldwide. However, such a philosophy not only invited but encouraged design reverse engineering and outright plagiarism. Second, Tesla built one of its first GigaFactories in Shanghai, China. The primary rationale was to sidestep foreign import trade tariffs imposed by China's government, access a huge Chinese consumer market, leverage favorable local labor rates, and align closely with Lithium-Ion battery manufacturers (also based in China). This scenario is a clear example of the CCP program known as "Elite Capture". In essence, this second decision regarding GigaFactory-Shanghai basically trained Chinese workers (undoubtedly loyal to China's CCP) not only in Tesla's innovative design technologies but also important manufacturing techniques. So, combining this valuable information essentially given away by Tesla along with preferential treatment gained regarding Lithium-Ion battery cost, Chinese EV brands such as NIO and BYD achieved an overall cost-saving jump start (no pun intended). At the same time, these Chinese EVs can then be offered at a tremendously lower price to consumers undercutting all competitors. The end result is China will most likely substantially eclipse Tesla for market share while also controlling a crucial source of Lithium-Ion batteries made available to any competing brands worldwide. Sadly, Tesla is the architect of its own demise ... honestly, who didn't actually see this coming!?

What is wrong with other countries succeeding or producing them? They weren't miscalculations and the automakers in the US had access to this information as well. Theses "miscalculations" as you call them are doing exactly as intended, but because it's not moving fast in the US you don't support it. They just choose to fight for oil & gas. The US is ignorant and stuck in their ways while some other countries are actually open to displacing oil & gas. Tesla has actually been making its profits by selling EPA vouchers to other brands which have not yet achieved mandated electrification regulatory requirements. So, in truth, the Shanghai facility did not save Tesla from financial insolvency. As is often the case, there are specific countries/governments lurking in the shadows watching for someone else to develop innovative technologies and then quickly copy these ideas. Dig deep enough and the truth is there waiting to be discovered ...

@@jeezy0025The main reason governments are mandating electrification of passenger vehicles actually relates more to global political agendas than climate concerns. As it turns out, ICE passenger vehicles only contribute at most 7% of all worldwide carbon emissions (reference Harry's Garage channel on RUclips discussing this subject for further details). So this brings up the crucial question of "why" then are governments focussing on passenger vehicles and forcing electrification on consumers? The answer is quite simple ... it involves World Economic Forum (WEF) directives to insure long-term human sustainability but interestingly these (directives) are heavily influenced by China and its own CCP objectives. In essence, a global dependence on fossil fuels is being exchanged for Lithium and Cobalt ... and you may have already guessed it but China controls over 80% of all mining/ processing of these two critical natural resources (in Argentina, Brazil, and Chile). This vehicle electrification program shifting global energy dependence is just one of several maneuvers instigated by China to be in a position, as the CCP has stated, thereby "offering the world an alternative form of governance and economics" by 2046. As is the case regarding many political topics in life ... things are not quite as they appear on the surface!

And no, you wouldn't need 7000 V2L connections, just some means of moving the cables, and as many connections as you need to extract the average load. Charge the cars to 100% at the factory, utilize their power down to 20-30% SOC, and recharge them at the destination. The ship would have some amount of its own power on board and some power source, probably in a hybrid propulsion scheme, for the return trip.
